If you love these beautiful flowers and decided to plant them on your garden or at home, you should thoroughly study all the features of planting, growth and care. Particular attention should be paid to roses diseases and their treatment. After all, even a well-developed and strong bush can quickly wither away with improper care.

Plants are damaged not only by pests, but also by fungi. They contribute to the development of most defects or plant death. Therefore, it is necessary to learn to recognize by the first signs of the disease of roses, in order to provide timely help to the plant.

The rules for the care of this royal flower mean the complete removal of all plant residues from the bush, which include weeded weeds, cut off buds, fallen leaves and remote shoots. Since the causative agents of various diseases can survive and multiply precisely on waste, our task is to prevent.

Before closing the hair of the roses for winter time, all leaves should be removed from them, cleaned and burned. This preventive measure will not allow mushroom spores and egg pests to calmly overwinter and ruin your bush next spring.

In order to prevent any rose disease, disinfection should be carried out and the garden tool should be sharpened before pruning the branches. Sections on the shoots should be treated with clay mortar, melted wax or garden var. In the spring, after full opening of the bush from under the warming material, it is necessary to carry out treatment with 0.4% solution of chlorine and copper oxide. In autumn, before hiding the bush, the treatment is carried out with a 3% solution of iron sulfate.

Diseases of roses include a whole list of various damages. Therefore, consider each species separately.

  • In the first place is powdery mildew. This type of rose disease can be observed both in growing on site and at home. The main feature is the presence of a white mealy coating on leaves, stems, buds. After its appearance on the plant, the leaves twist and wither. Infection very quickly spreads through the bush and closely located plants. What causes this disease? The high humidity of the soil and surrounding air, strongly thickened plantings, increased soil acidity and overfeeding of the plant with nitrogen fertilizers. What must be done to save the flower? If the disease has already appeared, then it is necessary to cut all the damaged parts of the plant and burn them. The ground will need to be dug very carefully, so as not to damage the root system of the bush. When the first signs of the disease appear, treatment with special preparations will help: "Sulfur colloid" (5 liters of water - 40 grams of substance), "Skor" (10 liters of water - 2 ml), "Topaz" (10 liters of water - 4 ml) . For prevention, you should treat the bush every spring with a solution of copper sulfate, at a rate of 10 liters of water per 100 grams of the drug.
  • No less dangerous damage to the rose bush is rust. Orange-yellow spots, located on shoots and leaves, are the main signs of this rose disease. Spores of the fungus become infectious. As soon as you saw the first signs of rust, it is required to immediately treat the whole bush with a solution of a special preparation called "Hom". It is taken in the proportions: 10 liters of water and 40 grams of substance. This amount is sufficient for spraying 100 square meters.
  • Black spotting damages the rose bushes planted on the site. The causative agent becomes a parasitic fungus, which appears as black dried spots on leaves and shoots. The plant is damaged at the end of the spring period, and the first signs of the disease can be seen only in August. The cause of the appearance of the fungus is the lack of nutrients and excess moisture. At the first signs, you should remove all damaged parts of the plant and process the bush, as well as land around it with 5% solution of copper sulfate or 1% solution of Bordeaux liquid.
