The most widespread and widely used in the gardening species of this genus is the white dern. In natural conditions, the plant is found among thickets of shrubs and in floodplains of rivers practically throughout the territory of Russia. Derain white, like most of his brethren, is undemanding to the composition of the soil, it grows well both in the sun and in the penumbra, is drought-resistant, although it also tolerates damp places. The shrub can reach a height of 3 meters. It has very flexible thin branches of beautiful coral-red coloration, less often red-brown and very rarely black and red.
