Decoupage on fabric

In modern times, works of art made by themselves do not lose their popularity and continue to please the eye of a person. Using the technique of decoupage on fabrics when creating original decor objects, you can not only create a unique design of rooms or clothes, but also very beautiful objects used in everyday life.

So, the technique of decoupage on the fabric consists in cutting out various images from materials such as leather, cloth or paper, which are then pasted onto the fabric. This technique requires a lot of time, as well as patience.

For the first time decoupage was used in Germany during the Middle Ages, carved images were intended for decorating furniture. Nowadays this fascination has acquired a mass character and is used almost everywhere.

So, decoupage on fabrics presupposes the presence of such objects for work, as glue, brush, lacquer, scissors, decorated object and drawing. There is also a special means for decoupage on fabric, which already has glue and lacquer in its composition.

Before you begin to work, you need to prepare the basis for decoupage. It can be ordinary cloth, tablecloth, T-shirt or other things. Under the fabric, you need to put a so-called substrate. A normal cellophane is suitable for this purpose. Next on the front side of the base is attached a picture, which is then covered with a means for decoupage and left for a day in order for the drawing to dry out. After a lapse of time, the basis with the pattern placed on it is ironed with a hot iron.

It should be noted that the finished work will only have a beautiful appearance when the pasted pattern completely merges with the base. In some cases, the decapitated thing can be covered with a means for decoupling a large number of times to achieve a positive effect.

In order to have an idea of how the decoupage is carried out on the fabric, let's consider this technique using the example of a flavored pillow. For this purpose, a normal multi-layer napkin is suitable.

To perform all necessary work will require: fabric, napkin with a picture, paint for the fabric, glue, brush, varnish, iron, scissors and cellophane.

First of all, you need to cut out two square flaps of cloth and a pattern from a napkin. Under the base of the fabric underlay cellophane. On one fabric square from the front side of the brush, glue is applied at the location of the drawing. Next, a pattern is applied and the glue is also applied, starting from the center of the image to its edges. When the glue dries, the pattern is ironed with a hot iron, and with the help of a cloth dye, its edges can be zadekorirovat.

Thus, decoupage on fabric is the art of decorating various objects by gluing on them drawings of paper, napkins, and other materials in combination with painting and varnishing. And the varnish should evenly lie down, dry quickly, without creating cracks and tints and a yellow tint with time.

The decapitated object is varnished until the joints disappear, after which it is polished or covered with wax intended for this purpose.

It can be said that this way of creating decor objects, like decoupage on fabrics, has different styles at present, such as Provence, Ethno, Victorian style and others, depending on the trends in design style. Also now, computer innovations have become available, which make it possible to create a three-dimensional decoupage, as well as use various prints printed on the printer. Technique decoupage involves a flight of imagination, so there is no restriction in the creation of beautiful and useful things.
