David Sakvarelidze is a Georgian lawyer who dreams of changing Ukraine

David Sakvarelidze is one of Georgia's most successful prosecutors. Fame has gained thanks to the rapid advancement of the career ladder. Since the fall of 2015 he has been active in politics on the territory of Ukraine.

Young years

Sakvarelidze David Georgievich was born on September 15, 1981 in Tbilisi. Soon after his birth, his father left the family. The mother was educating the boy. She had to work very hard to provide the family with everything necessary.

However, even without a father, David Sakvarelidze grew up a real Georgian man. In one of his interviews he said: "My mother brought me strong and uncompromising - now I can protect what is dear to me."

Education

School graduate David Georgievich in one of the military towns near Tbilisi. Initially, the mother wanted his son to go to medicine. It was a family tradition, which began with a great-grandfather. But David David Sakvarelidze decided otherwise, and his family had nothing else to do but resign themselves to his choice.

In 1999, the young man entered the Tbilisi State University. As the main direction, he chose the law faculty. And it should be noted that he was given a very good right. Soon David earned the fame of one of the best students at the university, which allowed him to go to study in America.

From 2001 to 2002, he studied political science at the American University of St. Bonaventure. Upon his return home successfully graduated from higher education. In 2004, he won a grant to study at the Japanese University of Ithacura. And exactly one year later he became one of the most educated lawyers in Georgia.

Careers in Georgia

So, what is remarkable about the career that David Sakvarelidze did? The biography of the young Georgian says that he started working while still at the university. In 2003, he obtained the position of legal adviser in the expert department of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia. It was a good job, especially for a student.

Soon after, he is appointed to a special commission dealing with legal reforms in the country. Here, David Sakvarelidze turns out to prove himself. The leadership sees in it a great potential, which only needs to be channeled into the right direction. Therefore, in 2004 he got a responsible position - the place of the main legal consultant under the administration of the President of Georgia. In 2005, David Sakvarelidze became the chief of the inspectorate for the protection of law in the main administration of Tbilisi.

In the summer of 2007, a young Georgian enters a new stage in his life. From that moment he began to work in the Georgian Prosecutor's Office. His first post was the seat of the regional prosecutor in Shida-Kartli. And a year later, David Georgievich became the first deputy prosecutor general.

It should be noted that due to the efforts of Sakvarelidze, a number of legal reforms took place in the country. For example, the most famous of them is the jury trial system . Also, the young lawyer repeatedly defended the rights of former Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili in court.

Activities in Ukraine

In February 2015, David Sakvarelidze, along with Mikhail Saakashvili, came to Ukraine at the special invitation of President Petro Poroshenko. The head of the new Ukrainian government offered the young lawyer the post of deputy chief prosecutor of the country. To which he answered satisfactorily. In the same month, David Sakvarelidze received Ukrainian citizenship.

At his post, he was responsible for implementing legal reforms that could help with European integration. In addition, the deputy prosecutor worked on the elimination of corruption schemes in government bodies. Because of this, he repeatedly got into a whirlwind of scandals and intrigues, which were badly beaten by his reputation.

In March 2016, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General dismissed the Georgian from his post, after which he himself resigned. His argument, he argued that David Sakvarelidze repeatedly violated the legal etiquette and discipline. However, for most residents of the country this resignation served as just another reason for distrust of power.

On March 30, the new Attorney General of Ukraine summoned David Georgievich for questioning. This time, the lawyer wanted to be accused of being involved in the disappearance of $ 2 million. But without substantive evidence, the case was closed at the initial stage of the investigation.

After the failure of Mikhail Saakashvili as governor of Odessa, the Georgian duo decides to create a new political force in Ukraine. From their words: "We are not ready to leave this country, until we destroy that corrupt elite that sits at the top of the power."

The newly formed party was called the "Movement of New Forces". According to preliminary polls, it is supported by about 25-27% of voters. However, this situation can radically change, as far as today, too much dirt flies in their direction. That is why David Sakvarelidze and Mikhail Saakashvili do their best to achieve early elections in Ukraine.
