"The big project"

Dondurei Daniil Borisovich in December 1986 organized a sensational Youth exhibition. It was really a big project, because the XVII exhibition completely changed the exhibition mechanism of those years. A group of critics was created who directed the project (previously only artists did the exhibition) and tried to find and share style attachments. That is, all the artists were represented in their inherent tendency.

The second, simply revolutionary, idea was that at the exhibition the works of non-conformists and participants of "one-day" masters were united. All these innovations were introduced without censorship of the exhibition and, most importantly, destroyed the eternal division of "official" art and "underground".

Point of view

  • At the Congress of Cinematographers in 2008, Dondurei advocated the removal of the chairman of the Union N. Mikhalkov and the choice of M. Hutsiev for this post . As a result of this dispute, all those who supported this proposal started professional problems. In particular, the editors of the "Art of Cinema" were asked to vacate the premises, which was built especially for the magazine in 1963.
  • In 2008, around the "Report on the real situation in the cinema", made by Daniil Borisovich, a scandal broke out. One of the listeners of the report recorded and, taking out of the context some acute points, laid out in the open access on the Internet. The network community did not hesitate to accuse Daniil Borisovich of wanting to introduce censorship on the Internet. Dondurei published a refutation.
  • In 2014 he signed a letter in support of Ukraine "We are with you!", Which Kino Soyuz addressed to his Ukrainian colleagues. At the time of sending the letter was signed by more than 200 Russian cultural figures, including Daniel Dondurei.

The biography of this man could quite deservedly serve as the basis of the plot for the film. One can safely say that he devoted his life to cinema, made a great contribution to the development of cinematographic science, education and criticism. He resolutely defends his position, expresses honestly and directly his opinion on all issues, the main "film critic" of the country - Daniel Dondurei.

The family, wife and daughter Tamara, also works in film. Tamara's daughter delivered the film "21 Day" - a documentary film-study about human fears and, most importantly, about a person's ability to overcome them.
