Conditions of entry into Macedonia, a country with a unique nature and architecture

The tourist business of the Balkan Peninsula is developing very quickly, so a tour in this direction is a good option for a vacation. As in many Western European countries, the conditions for entry into Macedonia depend on the citizenship of the individual. The belonging of a citizen to a particular state influences these conditions. For example, for a tourist trip of Russians, registration is not required, but the grace period is limited to a certain period.

Visa-free entry

According to the decree of the Government of the Republic, before 15.03.2016 there are preferential rules Entrance to Macedonia for the Russians. To cross the border, only a valid passport and medical insurance will be required, with a validity for the entire period of the trip. Such conditions allow transit through the country, visit relatives, take part in tourist trips.

The period when Russians are allowed to stay within the Republic is strictly indicated: not more than 90 days in the last 6 months. After half a year, you can again use this privilege (provided that it will be extended for a longer period than planned). And only one entry into Macedonia for Russians is allowed. Secondary is possible after the end of the 6-month period or when applying for a visa.

For a longer visit, you will need a visa.

Schengen

The Republic is a member of the Schengen countries , which means that the rules of entry into Macedonia are in accordance with European agreements. Thus, if there is a valid two-fold or multiple-entry visa of category C in the hands, a repeated entry into the territory of the Republic is allowed. For unhindered crossing of the customs point, it must meet the following requirements:

  • The validity period must not end within five days after leaving the country;
  • It must operate throughout the Schengen area;
  • The category should be double or multiple (the presence of a single visa does not allow entry into the country).

Pre-entry

The Embassy of the Republic of Macedonia is in Moscow on Dmitri Ulyanov Street , Building 16 Building 2 Room No. 510. Telephone: +7 (499) 124 33 57.

Permits for entry into a foreign country are issued at the country's embassy or visa center. Conditions for entry into Macedonia for a long period (for training, immigration, business, etc.) require a long visa. The process of its registration can take 10 working days, but in some cases, a 30-day clearance period is possible.

To do this, you will need to submit an electronic application with the following information:

  • Name, date of birth, citizenship and permanent address of registration with the postal code (residence permit) of the applicant;
  • Information on employment (type of activity, organization name, actual address and contact numbers);
  • Terms and purpose of the visit to the country.

In addition, you must provide information about the inviting party: a citizen of the Republic of Macedonia or a legal entity:

  • Name, date of birth, permanent address with the postal code of the individual;
  • Name, actual address, contact phone numbers of the organization and full details of the responsible contact person.

The application is assigned a number, the date and time of the reception at the embassy are assigned.

Documents and cost

Arriving at the appointed time, you will need to fill in one more questionnaire and provide the following documents:

  • international passport;
  • 2 photos conforming to ICAO international requirements;
  • Confirmation of payment of the visa fee;
  • A medical insurance policy operating in the Schengen area and having a minimum insured amount of 30,000 euros;
  • A copy of the Russian passport.

If the visa is refused, the amount of the fee paid to the applicant is not refunded.

The conditions for entry into Macedonia for Russians for a long time require a visa, which can be paid directly at the embassy or visa center. The cost depends on the decision period. For the standard period of consideration of documents the amount of the visa fee will be 35 euros or the equivalent amount in Russian rubles. For an accelerated process within three days, you will have to pay 70 euros.

The payment for the services of the visa center is not specifically specified, the only clarification: it should not exceed the amount of 30 euros.

Registration through the visa center

The advantage of applying is that the managers of the center will independently prepare and submit documents for consideration. You will only need to sign on the form and provide them with the necessary information. But the embassy will still have to visit for the "surrender" of biometrics.

Biometrics

The fact is that a new Visa Information System (VIS) was recently introduced, in which dactyloscopic information is processed and stored about persons traveling outside their states. According to its charter, biometric data are given out every 59 months. Thus, the conditions for entry into Macedonia presuppose the mandatory delivery of fingerprints.

There are two options when a citizen is released from the delivery of prints:

  • Not yet passed 59 months after the last change;
  • A citizen is not yet 12 years of age.

The conditions for entry into Macedonia, as in most countries of the Balkan Peninsula, are relatively loyal to our compatriots. That is why wonderful mountain landscapes, historical sights and interesting cultural heritage of the country attract Russian tourists so much.
