In order to visit all the interesting sights of Moscow, not enough for a whole week. There are in the capital and undeservedly forgotten picturesque places with a rich history. For example, the Stroganoff Manor in Bratsevo is a monument of architecture, which even many indigenous Muscovites do not know. Where is this landmark and what is its history?

Romantic history of the estate Stroganov

The manor, surrounded by an English park in the Bratsevo suburb near Moscow, is traditionally associated with the name of Count A. Stroganov. In fact, he purchased these lands in 1780, long before the building of the architectural ensemble that has survived to this day. A.Stroganov did not own the estate very long. A version is widely spread according to which Bratzevo was acquired by the Count especially for his second wife, as compensation. Ekaterina Petrovna Stroganova (Trubetskaya) almost immediately after the marriage fell in love with the general-adjutant IN Rimsky-Korsakov, who was previously the favorite of Catherine II. Sympathy grew into a violent romance, which led to the divorce of the Stroganovs. Deceived husband behaved fairly nobly, and after the dissolution of the marriage Catherine Petrovna went to a country estate in Bratsevo. It was there that she lived with her lover until her death.

Owners Brattsevo

It is believed that the manor house and complex of other buildings that survived to this day was erected in 1813-1815 by the order of Rimsky-Korsakov. Presumably, the main architect of the project was A. N. Voronikhin. After the death of Catherine Petrovna and Ivan Nikolaevich, the manor and park complex is taken to their common son VN. Ladomirsky. Vasily Nikolaevich in 1833 rebuilt the church in Bratsevo, which is part of the architectural ensemble. After the death of Colonel Ladomirsky, his estate was owned by his widow, and then by her relatives. The last owner of Bratzevo was N. Scherbatov. After the revolution of 1917, he voluntarily transferred his property to states, asking only to preserve monuments of architecture and valuable works of art.

Modern history of an ancient manor house

Most of the valuable items of interior decoration of the manor house of the Stroganov estate were transported to the New Jerusalem Monastery. During the Great Patriotic War, all these works of art, exquisite objects of interior and everyday life were lost. The Soviet government for some time could not come to a common opinion about how the Stroganovs' estate in Bratsevo should be used. About a year old buildings occupied kindergarten and school. Then, on the basis of the Stroganov estate, the Museum of Nobility Life also did not last long. In 1922 the rest house was opened. The boarding house several times replaced the owners, and the architectural ensemble experienced minor changes. However, despite all the circumstances, there is a rest house today. Also on the territory of the park complex Brattsevo (Moscow) today works for everyone who wants the restaurant "Stroganov".

Monuments of architecture and local attractions

Until now, the main house of the manor, preserved in the classical style, has been preserved. The building is cross-shaped, has a gazebo with a dome and a portico. In the thirties of the last century, single-story wings were attached to the main two-story house. At the same time, before the front entrance, a fountain was built, completely rebuilt in 2012. Of the original buildings, the Stroganovs' manor in Bratsevo has preserved the summer house, made in the form of a rotunda. Its name "Milovid" is usually interpreted as "The Temple of Catherine II". Modern tourists can see in Bratsevo also the only surviving main wing. Preserved in the Stroganov Manor and Empire Paintings, dating from 1830-1840. Around the old buildings, as well as during the life of their past owners, there is a landscape park. There are two stone bridges here, the territory is in a well-maintained condition.

Church in Bratzewo

Once, before the acquisition of Stroganov, the land of the modern Bratsevo belonged to Boyar BM Khitrovo. At the same owner in 1670 on the estate was built Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin. The temple in Bratzevo has survived to this day, and today its doors are open to the parishioners. What is noteworthy, the church has become a place of rest for the most famous owners of the estate. Here lies the ashes of Catherine Petrovna Stroganova and her "husband" Ivan Nikolayevich Rimsky-Korsakov. During the USSR, the church was closed, and its bell tower and a number of adjacent buildings - completely destroyed. The church was restored and re-consecrated only in the early 90s of the last century. Today, there are festive services, sacraments of wedding and baptism. The church has a Sunday school for children and adults, as well as a variety of circles and training courses. The parishioners of the church are many residents of the capital. Once upon a time, Bratsevo was considered the Moscow Region, but today it is Moscow. M. Planernaya is one of the nearest stations, if you want, it is easy to get here from any point of the SZAO.
