Common bruise - herbal medicinal plant
We all know what a bruise is. This is a subcutaneous hemorrhage, is not it? But it turns out that in addition to this, a bruise can also be a useful remedy. How is this possible? The fact is that under the name "bruise ordinary" a very interesting medicinal plant is hiding.
This flower is very common. It occurs throughout Europe, as well as in Western Siberia and East Asia. And surely you met him during walks in the country. How does the grass look like a bruise? Its thickets are found on the slopes of ravines, in the steppe. You can also find them at the roadside, so the plant is considered to be weed. It is easy to distinguish by the blue-violet color of flowers. By itself, it is similar to a high (up to 1 meter high) candle, covered with sufficiently rigid villi. The entire candle is sprinkled evenly with inflorescences, similar to small bells of a bright blue and lilac shade. But the leaves of the bruise are unimportant. They have a lanceolate shape and are located near the ground, so that all attention is paid to high inflorescences. The usual period of its flowering is August, although it comes earlier in the southern regions.
If you need to clearly understand what a common bruise is, photos of it in the summer months presented here will surely help you. Bright blue and violet flowers, prominently on the background of green grass - that's it. In addition, the common bruise is a valuable mead - it produces a very tasty and fragrant meadow honey from its pollen .
But do not think that the bruise is ordinary - the plant is harmless. Remember that it is better to protect children from it! All parts of this flower contain poison, in strength and effect resembling the famous curare. But at the same time the flower is widely used in medicine, especially in folk recipes. Even in the XIX century, there are references to the use of this herb in the treatment of snake bites and with epilepsy. Now his expectorant and antibacterial properties are actively used.
In folk medicine, almost all parts of this plant are used. An ordinary bruise is considered an effective remedy for whooping cough and with any strong cough. But the boiled shoots of the plant are good for rheumatism and stretching of the tendons - they are used as compresses. The roots of this plant are used for the preparation of blood cleansing decoctions. The water extract of this herb has unique properties - it is able to restore the hormonal background. And it has a powerful sedative effect and can be used to treat diseases of the nervous system, even epilepsy.
Self-medication with the help of this herb is a very dangerous matter. It should be clearly adhered to the prescribed dosage, because, as already mentioned above, all parts of the plant can be poisonous. Therefore, poisoning with self-medication is a simple matter. So it's better just to admire these flowers from the side, there is honey made from them. If necessary, take medications on their basis, do it only under the supervision of a doctor!
