Clamps for fastening pipes, hoses. Types

Clamp - a technical element used to connect and fasten pipes, hoses and other flexible, as well as rigid pipelines.

There are different types of clamps, which are used for fixing pipes made of different materials, having different rigidity. Choosing clamps, for example, to replace pipes in an apartment or in a house, you need to know the exact length of the span of the system, as well as the weight of the entire pipe.

There are two types of GOST, to which metal clamps must comply - it is an international ISO standard or German DIN. When purchasing clamps, make sure that they match one of these standards.

Clamps plastic. Make plastic clamps whole or double. The first type of clamps is very often uncomfortable for installation, so double clamps are more popular. The main advantage of plastic clamps is that they are not susceptible to corrosion, but they are intended, respectively, for fastening plastic pipes. Such clamps are not suitable for fixing steel pipes, because they can not withstand their weight, especially if the pipe is fixed in a horizontal position. All plastic clamps are recommended to be placed at a distance of 0.6 - 1 m in a horizontal position and at a distance of 1 - 2 m in a vertical position.

Metal clamps. Due to the fact that the construction of metal clamps are universal, they are the most versatile for installation. First of all, such clamps are used for fastening pipes made of steel, as they perfectly withstand the weight of a standard household pipe fixed in any position.

There are clamps with a double structure and are divided into two types:

C-shaped - fastened by means of a single bolt, O-shaped - fixed by means of two bolts, separated in the middle. According to the principle of action, they are absolutely identical. And the choice of these or other clamps is only at the discretion of the employee who conducts the installation.

Metal clamps made of steel are produced, as a rule, it is a galvanized steel tape, a rubber coating is placed inside it, which ensures a full axial movement of the pipe, and also serves to reduce vibrations. Such clamps are the most durable, allow to fasten the pipes for placement both in a horizontal position and in a vertical one.

When choosing the types of clamps, try to take into account all the features of the system, the pipes that will be fixed, their position and load. In the place where it will be produced, directly, the installation of pipes, use a necessarily rigid fastening with metal clamps. This will ensure the long-term use of pipes.
