American Detroit (Michigan) - one of the largest megacities of the United States. Today, this city in America is similar to the exclusion zone (Chernobyl) in Ukraine. And before, Detroit was called the world's automobile capital. Here, the largest production of vehicles on the planet was concentrated. But life is so arranged that everything has to be paid for, and after glorious glory, sooner or later an eclipse comes. So it happened with this city: after experiencing an extraordinary rise, today it turns into ruins and becomes a hangout for drug addicts and bandits.

The great past of a fading city

Detroit, Michigan, was founded on July 24, 1701. Its founder was the French officer Antoine Lomé de La Motte Cadillac. The future metropolis is located on the trade route, thanks to which the village where the fur traders lived, in a few years turned into an industrial center. One known now American trademark in its name immortalized the name of the "parent" of Detroit.

At the end of the XIX century, a car manufacturing plant was built near the city. And in 1903, its owner Henry Ford founded the Ford Motor Company brand, and from this moment the real boom of immigrants begins. After that, in the metropolis, some of the world leaders in the automotive industry opened their headquarters.

Detroit (Michigan) quickly won the title of the world's automobile capital. At the state level, a program of public machines was implemented here. But since the 1970s, the autocentre has sunset. In companies Chrysler, General Motors and Ford is developing a financial crisis. The auto magnates had to shut down their factories in Detroit and transfer them to those states where the labor cost was several times cheaper. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the number of jobs in the city was reduced by more than 200 thousand. Over the past half century, the population of the megalopolis has decreased by half.

But Detroit does not give up, attracting tourists every year to visit local attractions and organize automobile exhibitions.

The ghost town of Detroit (Michigan), despite its bankruptcy, exists today. The business part of the metropolis is running smoothly.
