Cement-lime mortar for plastering

Over the past ten years, plaster technology has not undergone significant changes. If there is something fundamentally new, then perhaps modern mixing stations, as well as supplying a solution. But they can be used only for large amounts of work. Cement-lime mortar for plaster is used in our time very widely. And the process of its application and subsequent alignment has its own subtleties and complexities.

Walls are leveled by beacons, this is necessary to create a surface of ideal quality - in office, residential, as well as other premises. When carrying out such work on the walls, first metal beacons are installed using the level. The beacon performs a guiding function, and upon completion of the work is dismantled. After fixing it, you can proceed directly to the surface finish. Cement-lime mortar can be applied by spreading or coating. Its surplus is removed by a rule and a flat strip - this way the surface is leveled.

The plastering of the walls, at which the cement-lime mortar is applied, is an improved type of finishing work. It takes less time, but irregularities are observed with the calculation of 3 mm per 2 m of height. The mortar can be poured by the trowel or, in the case of large volumes, fed from the plaster station hose . Surplus are removed by lighthouses according to the same rules.

Cement-lime can be superimposed with a layer, the thickness of which depends on the initial irregularities in the range of 2-4 cm. Grinding is considered the final stage of finishing. Here, felt or polyurethane graters are used.

In the modern market solutions for plasters are offered in a wide range. They are made on the basis of Portland cement, gypsum, lime, astringent polymer materials, etc. So you can choose for every taste and purse. However, in spite of the fact that in our time gypsum-based compounds are considered very popular, quite a few decorators still use cement-lime mortar. Why does this happen with such a large and convenient choice and reasonable prices? The fact is that the cement-lime mortar has many positive characteristics, and its main trump card is a much more affordable price, when compared with plaster compounds for plaster. Another important advantage is the strength of the material and the convenience of working with it.

To better understand the reasons for using a cement-lime mortar, you need to list all its advantages:

- low price;

- plasticity;

- high adhesion - ability to adhere to the surface;

- bactericidal properties;

- optimum humidity in the room;

- high resistance to cracks.

It is understandable that any foreman will make a plaster mixture to facilitate work. However, the customer should have thought about whether it is worth overpaying for compounds that are similar in properties to cheaper analogues? After all, it's better to save money, and then spend it on something more necessary, since any repairs require a lot of money.
