Caring for the puppy

So there was a small, soft, furry and long-awaited miracle in your house. And immediately the question arises: what should be the care of the puppy? In fact, this had to be taken care of even before you brought the baby into the house.

First you need to find a place for him. This does not mean that you have to allocate a part of your bed to the dog. In no case! So you dilute the puppy from an early age. And it's good if it turns out to be a small decorative dog, for example, a Yorkshire terrier. And if you get a Rottweiler or a Caucasian sheepdog? Running a little forward, I will say that the owners of large breeds, who allowed the puppy to bed on his bed in the first months, can not always disaccustom the dog from a warm place next to the owner. Moreover, the dogs, growing up, take up a lot of space and demand to release it at their first desire. This is often manifested in the form of impudent collision of the owner from the bed, and sometimes in the form of a roar and grin. Do not humanize the dog. Do not let her take the first place in the hierarchical ladder of the "pack" family. Otherwise be a trouble.

So, caring for the puppy begins by choosing a place. How should it be and where to be located?

Firstly, it should be a mat, suitable in size (not too small and not too large). It is desirable that the mat was made of natural, rather than artificial material, easily washed. You can use pillowcases or rug covers, which will be erased with the pollution.

Secondly, the place itself should be located in a cozy quiet corner, where no one will disturb the dog during the rest. Do not place the dog in the kitchen, in the corridor, in the bathroom, and even more so in the toilet. Avoid heaters in the vicinity and drafts.

If you live in a private house, the ideal place will be a pre-equipped spacious and covered enclosure. Ideally, it should be protected from the wind and have a wooden floor. Some owners prefer to concrete floors. This is really very handy when it comes to cleaning. But it's still not worth doing, because on the concrete the dog can catch a cold even in the summer. Puppies, not limited in freedom, constantly staying on fresh air, grow healthier and are adapted to the whims of changeable weather.

But regardless of where the puppy will live, do not deny him (and yourself too) in hours of communication. Walk it, comb it out, feed it, play it and just talk. This is the key to successful training in the future. The dog, who has good contact with the owner, is very easy to learn, performs commands with pleasure and irreproachably. The best praise for such a dog is the cheer of the owner and stroking the withers. Have you ever heard that the dog understands the master with a half-word? In a sense, this is indeed the case. The reason lies again in good contact between the owner and the dog. It is with his adjustment and care begins for the puppies.

The place is defined, the nickname is chosen (or already given by the breeder). What's next? What should be the care of the puppy? Of course, in proper nutrition. Breeder, passing you a puppy, should tell in detail what and how he fed the puppy, what his regime was, what nutritional supplements and vitamins were given. Ideally, you should give a printout with a detailed description, including the time of feeding and the list of products used in feeding. Be sure to take the breeder's phone number. Most likely, you will have to repeatedly ask him for advice. The first few days you must strictly adhere to the diet. Changes can adversely affect the health of the baby. New products are introduced only after a few days and gradually. Be sure to observe how your puppy reacted to them: was there vomiting, frustration, allergy. Products that are not digested or caused allergies, exclude from the diet. It is very convenient to use a dry balanced feed. But they should be only super-premium class, appropriate to breed and age (and loads, too) and introduced, of course, gradually. Veterinarians do not recommend the introduction of dry food before three months. If you make a choice in favor of such food, leave the puppy with water. It should always be clean, fresh and easily accessible.

Care for the puppy consists in the training to the toilet. In fact, the puppies are very smart and quickly understand what is required of them. Some people start asking for a street in two months. Take the puppy out into the street as soon as he wakes up or has a meal. The fact is that right after sleep he needs to empty the bladder and intestines. Small puppies can not tolerate by nature.

Do not hit the dog for something, then she left a puddle on the floor: it's only your fault. If the kid has met the need during a walk, be sure to praise him.

Describing care for the puppy, we can not fail to mention preventive vaccinations. For more information, contact your veterinarian. Any vaccination is shown only to an absolutely healthy animal, free from helminths. Otherwise, the dog may die.

But caring for the puppy does not end there. Ahead you have several interesting stages of growing up, training, perhaps - exhibitions and titles, and maybe the upbringing of a new offspring. Puppies, caring for them - always a painstaking work, sometimes very hard and exhausting, but always giving their results. But what the results will be, depends only on you. Good luck to you!
