Cargo scooter is convenient for farmers

The cargo motor scooter appeared in the fifties of the last century in Italy. Its ancestor is the Piaggio Ape-model.

Twenty years later, cargo scooters with a cab were widely used in India. They were issued under an Italian license by the local company Bajaj. After literally ten years practically in all countries of the East Asian region it was possible to meet a cargo motor scooter, which was used as a pick-up truck. In those years, it was maximally unified with such a traditional means of transportation as a rickshaw, sitting in a niche between conventional four-wheeled taxis and bicycles. In such multimillion-dollar cities in the region as Calcutta, Delhi, Mubai, Bangkok, etc., the cargo motor scooter was an excellent solution for movement. His popularity was also promoted by low price and low taxes, combined with relative economy and maneuverability.

Description

The cargo scooter is traditionally equipped with an onboard body, on which it is possible to install an awning. In the eighties of the last century, the most popular model in the USSR was the "Ant".
However, with the massive motorization in Russia in the nineties, it quickly disappeared, not only from cities, but also from rural areas. Modern models have a carrying capacity of not more than three hundred kilograms, although in some it reaches up to seven hundred. The fuel consumption varies from three to seven and a half liters for every hundred kilometers, depending on the type of engine. The cargo scooter has three wheels, and the rear of them drive is the same as that of cars - through the differential. Some modern models are equipped with a closed, blind cab, designed for the driver and two passengers in the back seat. However, this is not an excuse to consider a vehicle for small cars, since the cargo scooter has a frame and a general arrangement for the mechanisms in their typical arrangement. The engine is two- or four-stroke injector or carburetor, but the scope of the latter is currently very narrow. This is explained by the tightening of environmental requirements in the countries of the European Union. Freight scooters must be registered and annually undergo a checkup. For their driving, a driver's license with category A is required.

Domestic models

Even in the Soviet era, the conveyor production of the very first cargo scooters was mastered and set up in the country. "Tula" and "Vyatka" were created on the basis of advanced for that time achievements of technology. They had sprung independent wheel suspensions. Their layout was designed to create some comfort for both the driver and the passenger. In addition, the Tula cargo motor scooter was equipped with an electric starter. Both models had two-stroke engines with forced cooling.

Models from China

Three-wheeled vehicles, including a cargo scooter, are in great demand in China. In the Middle Kingdom, their production is constantly expanding, new lines are being introduced, and designs are being modernized. And in the Russian market the Chinese cargo scooter, the price for which fluctuates within sixty to seventy thousand rubles, is quite in demand. Especially it concerns such models as "Kinfan", "Omax", etc. Farmers use them to transport fruits and vegetables, as well as for small livestock. In addition, a cargo scooter is in demand in the construction field.
