Burning apparatus. How to use?
To burn out the wood, you need a burning apparatus and material for processing, namely wood in its various forms: bars, boards, plywood. The material to be used must be dry, with a smooth and matte surface. In addition, the presence of pronounced annual rings is not allowed.
Preparation of material for work
So, if the material is already selected and has the shape you need, you need to start preparing it. First, the material is ground with medium-grained sand paper, then fine-grained. After that, select a picture. If burning out a tree is a new activity for you, then it is advisable to choose an uncomplicated figure that is translated into the material in the simplest way.
Place the picture on the material exactly in the center and cover it with a transparent tracing paper. Figure with the tracing paper with the buttons on the corners. Now sharpen the pencil carefully around the picture. It is advisable to use the old and black paper to copy paper so that the material does not get dirty.
Burning process
Using the burning apparatus for wood, you can perform an artistic image in several ways: contour, pictorial and artistic.
Contour Burning
This type of burning is used mainly by beginning masters, who believe that it is simple and very similar to pencil work. However, this is an erroneous opinion. When burning with a contour method, avoid the appearance of points that can form as a result of stopping the needle or slowly moving it.
Usually, contour burning is used for various inscriptions, but in working with ornaments it is necessary to use it as a shading.
Silent burning
For this method of burning, burners are used on wood with a needle, in which the bent part is riveted, and the "sole" is carefully ground. For beginners, the minimum incandescence of the needle is recommended. If the technology of silhouette burning is performed accurately, you will get a smooth and dark surface, without scratches and pits, burns and light spots. This technique in the silhouette of a burning out is called a "smooth stroke". This way you can burn very large surfaces and get different shades: from light beige to deep dark.
Artistic (pictorial) burning out
The technical methods of such burning are based on the silhouette and contour techniques. When art burning is very important to show objects that are close (foreground), as well as objects in the background (background). But the most important thing is to create the impression of three-dimensional space. The material of the objects that are depicted is transmitted mainly due to various techniques of strokes and feathering techniques.
Rules for using the burner
1. Before turning on the combustion apparatus, it is necessary to straighten all the wires. During work, you need to ensure that they do not get confused.
2. It should be remembered that the burner should not work more than two hours in a row. Therefore every half hour it is desirable to take a break for 5 minutes and ventilate the room.
3. It is recommended to operate the burning apparatus during the daytime, but during work at night it is necessary to take care that light falls on the material on the left, if you are right handed, and vice versa.
4. When burning, try to protect the surface of the material, so put a clean sheet of paper under your arm, so as not to spoil the work.
Good luck!
