Painting a bumper with your own hands - is it possible?

1. First, you need to remove all the color from the surface of the plastic, before disassembling the bumper. This is done with the help of special paper for grinding, which can be found in any specialized store.
2. After grinding, thoroughly wipe and degrease the surface with a special solvent and proceed to the priming process (you should make no more than two layers). Remember that there are cans for metal surfaces, and there are - for plastic ones. Using the first type of primer coating on a plastic bumper, you risk premature wear of the paint, as it will not hold well.
3. In case of defects (so-called "scars") on the plastic surface, it is recommended that they be thoroughly ground before reaching a perfectly flat surface.
4. Sand the primer with sandpaper before it becomes dull.
5. Feel free to start painting. The bumper is painted in one or two coats of varnish.
6. Bring the paint to dryness and set the bumper back to your car.
