Braces and kapy for leveling teeth

One of the most convenient and easy to use methods of teeth alignment are orthodontic kapy. It is generally accepted that the kapes are a very convenient dental unit, which is not only designed for teeth alignment.

Types of dental treatment with cap:

1. Teeth for equalizing teeth are intended for mechanical impact on the teeth in order to move them to the desired position.

2. Whitening kapy for teeth. When teeth are whitened in this way, a special whitening agent is placed inside the kapa, which acts on the teeth during the period of wearing the cap and brightens them.

3. Sports caps are used by athletes during training and competitions in order to reduce the mechanical load on the teeth.

4. Bars with bruxism protect teeth from erasure during sleep.

5. Miorelaksiruyuschie kapy intended to relax the masticatory muscles and reduce the load in preparation for prosthetics of the teeth.

Most often, the first two types of cap. Let us consider them in more detail.

Kapy for alignment of teeth is an orthodontic equipment, which, unlike bracket systems, is removable. During treatment, the patient can take them for several hours a day: during food, dental hygiene and care for the kapami themselves.

At the choice of patients, dentists can offer several types of cap, which are different for both price and quality.

So, standard kapy are cheap, thanks to which are available to any person. However, their standardization leads to the fact that when wearing, they almost always cause discomfort, because The structure of the dental system in each person individually. Thermoplastic kapy for alignment of teeth is more convenient than standard ones. They are made of a material that has the property of softening in hot water, and after it is applied to the teeth - it hardens, which allows reproducing the individual characteristics of the teeth. The disadvantage of such caps is that at the initial stage of application they require increased attention and accuracy.

The most convenient option is the kapy, which is manufactured individually. When they are created, computer modeling based on the casting of teeth, vacuum technologies is used. And the kaps themselves are made from a very thin, almost invisible material that completely corresponds to the shape of the patient's teeth. Such kapy are much more expensive, but their price is justified by the convenience of wearing.

Kapy for alignment of teeth are removed and, accordingly, require a certain care. In fact, everything is not so difficult, it is enough to clean the outside of the cap with a toothbrush, and rinse them with cool water. They need to be stored in a special case, which is provided with air access. In no event should a strong mechanical effect be exerted on the cap removed.

Braces are a non-removable orthodontic device (they are removed only by the dentist), so that they effectively affect the teeth. With the help of braces, you can correct the position of almost any tooth. Braces consist of locks that are attached to the tooth, and the arc that connects them. They are prepared individually for each patient.

There are several types of bracket systems:

  1. Metal - this is the most durable and effective type of braces, but the least aesthetically attractive.
  2. Sapphire - almost imperceptible on the teeth, but the arc that connects them, still visible. In addition, of all types of braces, these are the most fragile.
  3. Lingual - braces, which are installed not on the outside, but on the inside of the teeth. They are more difficult to get used to, but they are completely invisible from the outside. The effect from them is somewhat lower than that of conventional ones, and care is more difficult.

Braces can also be colored. This option is suitable for children - and interesting, and inexpensive.

On the question, which is better, braces or kapy, it is very difficult to answer unequivocally. In each specific case, it is decided by a qualified dentist, taking into account the severity of the situation and the wishes of the patient.
