You need to travel along the Chernigov route about three and a half hours. Having passed the regional center, you should take a course on the village of Oleshnya. There is no railway station in the village. But from Chernigov in that direction three times a day the train goes to the stop "Grybova Rudnya". The train goes there about an hour. To get from the "Gribovoy Rudny" to the Blue Lakes (Chernihiv region, Repkin district), you need to go along a beautiful road among the pine forest less than a kilometer. You can come in the morning, and leave for lunch or in the evening.

How the lakes were formed

It's hard to believe that these ponds are man-made. And even more incredible is the fact that the Blue Lakes (Chernigov region) were formed as a result of industrial activity. Once here mined quartz sand for the production of glass. As a result of development, they dug to the artesian layer. Now the former careers were filled with the purest water from the depths. The bottom is covered with tiny quartz sand. Sun rays, refracted, give the lake water a bright aquamarine shade. Therefore, the name Blue was given to reservoirs. Pine forest surrounds the lakes. In addition to healing air, filled with the smells of needles, tourists can enjoy and amazing water. It treats diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Well water procedures affect the condition of the skin and hair. Therefore, swimming in the lakes can be called "baths of health and beauty."

How many actually the Blue Lakes

Kievans and other visitors are sure that there are three reservoirs. They are called unpretentious, but exactly: Big, Medium and Small. The entire tourist infrastructure is concentrated on the first pond. The area of the Great Blue Lake is 20 hectares. But even with such a long coastline in the weekend there is not enough space for everyone who wants to relax in this wonderful place. And annually more than two hundred and fifty thousand tourists from Ukraine and near abroad come to the Blue Lakes. Chernihiv region is rich in other attractions. And a mile and a half from the lakes, in the village of Oleshnya, there is a museum-estate of Sofia Lindfors-Rusova, a famous teacher of the XIX century. Now on its territory there is a tourist complex. The average lake was chosen by fishermen, because its banks are steep. Local residents go to the Small - there are exits of healing clay, which heals joints. If you go further towards Belarus, you will stumble upon another flooded quarry. In this lake is extremely soft water. But the high forest along the coast does not let out the sun's rays. Therefore, it's cool to swim there.
