Bladder cancer: symptoms and its causes

The bladder is the vital organ of the human body. After all, its main functional duty is to accumulate urine in itself and then output it. In this organ can develop a disease - cancer of the bladder. Symptoms of it are often associated with problems of urination, it can be of two types:

  1. Superficial, when a malignant tumor is formed on the walls of the organ (bladder),
  2. Option, when the tumor, including, extends to the tissue surrounding the organ.

According to statistical data, it is bladder cancer - this is a disease that occurs in 90% of patients with oncological clinics with tumors of the urinary tract.

Causes

The causes of bladder cancer are very different. Among them is interaction with harmful substances. This applies to workers who work in the production of paints, rubber or in the gas industry. A malignant tumor can also arise from excessive smoking or alcohol consumption.

An important role in this process is played by diseases. Among them, not only those that are genetically determined, but also all kinds of chronic: bladder ulcer, cystitis. The cause of the appearance of the tumor can be long-term use of potent drugs or the treatment of other diseases by irradiating the pelvic organs.

Symptoms

The patient does not immediately know that the cancer of the bladder develops. Symptoms appear not at the early stages of the disease, but somewhat later. However, they depend on where the malignant formation is located and what its nature is.

The very first sign of a fatal disease is the so-called hematuria (an admixture of blood directly in the urine). This is the most common symptom. It can be repeated and last from a couple of hours to several days. And the blood suddenly appears and also disappears without any treatment. No unpleasant sensations or cuts when urinating it does not produce, but it happens that even clots come out.

More can help identify bladder cancer symptoms that are associated with the rhythm and nature of urination. First, urination is often present, as well as urinary retention. Secondly, it becomes purulent, very turbid and a sharp unpleasant smell is felt. Finally, during urination, the patient feels constant pain and rezi.

In bladder cancer, pain can occur in the lumbar region, buttocks, thighs, sacrum and even genital organs. They are permanent in nature and have nothing to do with urination. The sudden development of diseases such as pyelonephritis and kidney failure should also be cautious.

Treatment

Once the diagnosis of bladder cancer has been confirmed, the symptoms are all revealed, and the doctors begin the necessary treatment. At different stages of the disease, it can be different. Usually apply chemical, radiotherapy or surgery.

Bladder cancer, whose treatment involves the removal of the organ itself, is only indicated if the tumor has already grown strongly and threatens to spread to other internal organs. True, today, even for those who are seriously ill, there is the possibility of preserving the bladder. For this, a surgical operation is performed, the result of which is fixed by the chemotherapy.

Chemical therapy is also indicated in case of disease at an early stage of development. Often, patients are completely cured of this ailment. However, the prognosis for patients with bladder cancer may be different, and it depends on a number of reasons:

  1. Stage of development of cancer,
  2. Health of the patient,
  3. Development of metastases,
  4. Type of treatment,
  5. Results of the conducted activities.

Prevention

Today, scientists and physicians have accurately established a direct link between the onset of this cancer and the impact on the human body of all kinds of chemicals. That is why workers who work in hazardous industries should, as rarely as possible, have direct contact with chemicals. It is very important for them to constantly consult a doctor at the slightest sign of malaise. Of course, it is necessary to undergo additional mandatory examinations.

People who are able to get bladder cancer because of genetic predisposition, it is advisable to completely abandon the use of alcohol and, of course, smoking. Because these factors can significantly increase the chance of a tumor.
