Beautiful Campanella. Flower whimsical, but very beautiful

A flower bed for many florists is truly a holy place. So you want to admire the colorful colors of flowers, to enjoy their delicate aroma. That is why with the advent of spring gardeners begin to look for new varieties of plants that will become a real garden ornament. In fact, preparations begin already in the middle of winter, because you need to have time to plan the flower arrangement of the future flowerbed, buy seed packets and plant them on seedlings.

If you want something unusual, but attractive, then you should pay attention to a plant such as Campanella. The flower is quite rare for our latitudes, but still very popular with flower growers. This bell has a white, blue and pink coloring. Some varieties are grown as decorative indoor plants, which in summer are beautifully decorated with balconies and loggias, and in winter they are dormant. In the spring they again come alive and please with abundant flowering.

Beautiful indoor flowers - this, of course, is good, but for gardeners more interesting are varieties that can be grown on the street. Campanella is from southern countries, so it takes a long time to get used to our climate. It is difficult to grow it, but it is possible. It multiplies by seeds, cuttings and bush division, but initially to get your own adult plant, you need to buy a sachet of seeds. Sowing them is necessary in May in the open ground, when the earth warms up well, it is also possible to build a mini-greenhouse.

If the soil is too hard or sour, then it is necessary to add lime, river sand, sawdust, peat, such a substrate is very fond of Campanella. The flower has small seeds, so you need to make a shallow groove, somewhere 0.5 cm. They are sown very densely, because they have a poor germination. Young plants are transplanted to a permanent place together with an earthen lump so that the root system is not damaged . To do this, you need to make a small hole, fill it with water to form a swamp, plant a flower and fill it well with earth.

Solar, well-warmed places - this is what the campaigner needs. The flower will not develop in the penumbra. In the first year the bush only strengthens, with the arrival of frosts it must be insulated, covered with sawdust or dry leaves. In the spring it is necessary to open the plant in time, so that it will not be banned. In the second year the Campanella can already throw out a couple of buds, but it is better to cut them off so as not to weaken the flower. Full bloom will be in the third year, it will begin in late spring and will continue until the end of summer. For one season the bush can give out up to 30 buds.

In one place can grow up to 10 years of Campanella. The flower is very cranky, so it is necessary to feed it three times a season with mineral fertilizers, water it, protect it from weeds. If you need to multiply the bell, you can collect the seeds that are stored in the boxes that formed after flowering, cut the cuttings or divide the adult bush. If the plant is too large, then it does not need to be excavated, because the Campanella does not tolerate the transplant. It is better to cut off the desired part with a shovel, and fill the old bush well with earth and pour it. Of course, growing this plant is a very troublesome business, but still all the worries will be compensated by the abundant flowering of luxurious curtains.
