Azhek - waterfall in Sochi. How to get to the local attractions?

A wonderful southern city of Sochi attracts tourists. Not only those who prefer to wander along the sea warm coast, but also those who dream to admire the objects that are miraculously created by mother nature. There are a lot of places of interest here, one of which is the town of Аek. The waterfall is big enough, tall and very beautiful. Our story is about him.

Azek Falls: a short description

It is located on the river Azek, which flows into the beautiful water stream of Sochi, which flows in the Khostinsky district (Krasnoyarsk Territory, Russia). It is here that there is a large national park, which is called Sochi. Near it there is the village Orekhovka (distance is 6.5 kilometers). Everyone who wants to enjoy the views of the falling water, it is necessary to come to this place, where is the Azek (waterfall).

The poetic name in translation from Ubykh means "snow son". Near the waterfall, on the southern slope of the Sugar Mountain, the source of the river takes the river Azek, with no less beautiful name - "born of snow." With an abundant snowfall on top of the mountain a huge white hat is formed, which was the reason for the name of the water stream. It is worth noting: this view is stunningly beautiful.

How did the waterfall form?

The Azake waterfall (Sochi) owes its formation to shale breeds. Its history begins more than 40-50 millennia ago. A powerful water jet falling from the peaks reaches a height of 9.5 m. The width of the stream is one and a half meters. At the foot of the cliff there is a pretty beautiful, picturesque lake. It is small - about 7 m in diameter.

The chic jets of the waterfall formed a canyon with steep banks of a horseshoe shape. The walls of the canyon are high, up to 20 m thick, densely covered with thickets of ivy, boxwood.

Flora and fauna

A little sun illuminates the Azka, the waterfall is mostly in the shade. This feature gives the flow some phantom and mysterious mystery. Falling from a 9.5-meter high water jet fascinates. Illuminated through dense thickets of bright sun rays, the lake will not leave anyone indifferent.

The rich flora includes 130 plant species. Many are listed in the Red Book. This is yew, boxwood, and also there are numerous lianas, shrubs, coniferous trees. Many winter flowers, these are primroses - snowdrops, cyclamen. The Pitsunda pine, hazel, forest grapes are included in the Red Book.

Fauna is no less rich and diverse. Here and rodents are squirrels, rabbits, many mice, noble deer. The government is working to restore the population of such a rare animal as the bison. You can meet martens, badgers. Bears are also frequent guests here. There are wolves, forest cats, jackals, and more than 10 species of snakes.

Difficulties of transition

Going along the mountain paths to the Azka waterfall, it's better to go on top, as in the lower part there is a path for horses. Moving past the Orekhovo Reserve, you will go through a small village, after which a picturesque forest opens. Along the way, there are numerous streams with fairly strong bridges. On the upper path to the zone of the waterfall does not fall, because the descent is very steep. It is better to go through the jumper and carefully come down. The further way can be chosen from two options: through the river by swimming or by a metal cable attached to the rock. Overcame all the difficulties - and here it is - Akez. The waterfall immediately impresses with its picturesque landscapes. Wild nature, silence and amazing beauty of the falling water flow compensate for all the difficulties of the transition. For the sake of what is revealed to the eye, it is worth doing this path.

Those wishing to admire the charms of the Azka waterfall can use the following routes:

• By bus number 120: get to the turn where the sign "Waterfalls" is set.
• When leaving Adler, go on routes N 124, 125, 105, 145. You need to exit at the stop "Matsesta". Then go to bus number 120 and continue the traffic, as in the first case.
• You can also get on the train "Swallow" to the station "Matsesta". And after - on the bus number 120.
