Farther and farther away from us are the events of the most devastating and bloody war of the twentieth century. The young generation is hardly aware of the horrors that had been experienced by his ancestors. The apocalypse of the Second World War is turning pale, and to return the feeling of a nightmare experienced by that generation, can now only cinema.
To remember
Many art pictures and serials have been shot, truthfully and not very telling about those days. You can challenge the reliability of blockbusters, created by Americans or Western directors, such as "English patient", "Saving Private Ryan", caressed by critics and showered with many movie awards. And you can take them for granted. Russian filmmakers turned to the topic more than once: "And the dawns here are quiet" make us cry today, and Bondarchuk's "Stalingrad" impresses with the special effects and thoroughness of the reconstructed scenery. But the documentary chronicles (an example is the film "Apocalypse: Second World War") - witnesses whose veracity can not be disputed. It is in these frames, again and again, terrible pictures of the Holocaust arise, when the fascists wanted to destroy the Jewish nation, concentration camps where inhuman experiments on themselves were conducted, battles that it is not possible to count.
Documents are evidenced
The producers of this documentary series "in all its glory" showed what the apocalypse of the Second World War is. They collected a lot of archival materials, allowing themselves only to color black and white film. Monochrome remained only shots, telling of the cruelty of the Holocaust. Two directors, a woman and a man: Isabella Clark and Daniel Casatelle - took as a basis the cadres of military correspondents and those who were able to capture the horrors of fascism. Sometimes we are shattered by the coloring of what should, it would seem, remain black and white. In the series, which shows the apocalypse of World War II, it is not so important. Of course, maybe the French directors were slightly biased and did not disclose the full power of Slavic patriotism, which especially flourished during the war. We, the Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians, those who belonged to the "Union of the Unbreakable Republics of the Free" could be offended. Yes, the accent is not made on the exploits of Alexander Matrosov, the "Young Guard" or the pioneer heroes. But here is another task. People simply show the chronicle of events through the eyes of the participants of those events.
Not to happen again
This National Geographic project, reflecting the apocalypse of World War II, is devoted to landing operations, which played an important role in the development of events, cruel and terrible battles, a nuclear strike against Japan by the United States. Now it is possible to deny the role of that test of a new, one might say, experimental bomb, on civilians. But this is also one of the hardest to understand pages that the 20th century is rich in. It was yet another fatty point set by the state, and, perhaps, made the authority of the state even more firm and unbreakable. Blitzkrieg of the Hitlerites, who were able to conquer many developed countries of Europe, were caught unawares and held in their claws for many years, is shown very clearly. This film - a warning that the apocalypse "World War II-2" did not happen again.
