In the Far East of Russia, seven thousand kilometers from Moscow, this amazing land is located. And when the working day in the capital is in full swing, it is already being prepared for its completion.

Most of the region is in the Amur basin, which, in fact, determined its name. The largest gas processing plant in the world is located here, the cosmodrome "Vostochny" is built on a grand scale and functions. Once in this region camels were planted, and today the wagons are being repaired and powerful hydroelectric power stations are being built.

The Amur Region is the 14th largest RF subject with a population of 800,000 people. The status of an independent and separate area it received in 1948.

The region borders directly with China. Moreover, the border of the two states runs along the Amur River. The climate of the region is quite severe: in the northern regions it is sharply continental, and in the southeast - monsoon. In winter, air temperatures drop to -20 ... -30 degrees Celsius.

The administration of the Amur Region is located in the city of Blagoveshchensk. This, by the way, is the only administrative center in Russia, located right on the border. From the opposite bank of the river, all the citizens of Blagoveshchensk send their "greetings" to the Chinese metropolis Heihe.

The coat of arms of the region is elegant and beautiful. It is a green shield of classical shape, which is divided in the middle by a white wavy belt. At the top of it are three golden eight-pointed stars. The shield itself is crowned with a royal golden crown with gems and is surrounded by a red ribbon.

The modern coat of arms of the Amur Region was approved in 2008. The previous version was slightly different from the current one. In particular, the coat of arms was previously surrounded by a wreath of oak leaves. In addition, in 2008 the Alexander ribbon was replaced with the ribbon of the Order of Lenin.

The coat of arms of the region has its own symbolism. So, the green color for the heraldic shield was not chosen by chance. After all, this is the color of abundance and fertility, which immediately reminds us of the agricultural specialization of this region. The white wavy belt on the shield is nothing but the Amur River, which has always played an important role in the life of the region.

Three yellow stars on the arms represent the Orthodox faith of the inhabitants of the region. And the crown crowning the shield is traditionally considered a symbol of the unity of Russia and reminds that the Amur Region is an integral part of it.

Description of the flag of the Amur Region

The flag of the region is different from the above-described coat of arms. Although they still have one thing in common. This is a wavy silver belt, which is present on the flag of the region. It is not hard to guess that here again this element symbolizes the main river of the region.

The modern flag of the Amur Region was also approved in 2008. It is a rectangular panel with a standard aspect ratio (2: 3). The horizontally oriented wavelike belt divides it into two parts: the upper red (it is much larger in size) and the lower blue one.

The red part of the flag of the region symbolizes valor, courage, hard work of its inhabitants, and also the richest history of this region. The blue part of the canvas is associated with the wide and fascinating expanses of the Amur River, the main river of the Far East.

The white wavy strip, in the current version of the flag of the Amur Region, occupies 1/12 of the total width of the canvas in its width.

Finally

The Amur Region is one of the Far Eastern regions of the Russian Federation. To date, there are about 800 thousand people. Within the region there are ten cities.

The flag and the coat of arms of the Amur region look different. However, their symbols reflect the past and present of this region. The only graphic element combining both these symbols is a white undulating strip, symbolizing the Amur River.
