In mid-August 1977, a truly incredible event happened. Dr. Jerry Eyman of the University of Ohio, who worked on the SETI program on a radio telescope called "Big Ear", received a signal from space. He proved to be quite strong and long, all his parameters said that he has an artificial origin. Shocked by the sensational data he saw, the American exclaimed: "Wow! More than 35 years have passed, and its secret, unfortunately, has not yet been uncovered. Its origin scientists have not given any intelligible explanation. The fact is that the antenna of the "Big Ear" is stationary and uses the rotation of our planet to scan the sky. Therefore, a possible signal source can be listened to only 72 seconds. Of these, almost half the time, it gradually increases, and in the meantime the telescope is aimed at the source. Then the remaining 36 seconds the signal from space gradually decreases. This is what was recorded by the radio telescope "Big Ear".

The Benford version

It should be noted that the use of the Twitter social network to compose a message to the alien "brothers in the mind" looks symbolic against the backdrop of innovative ideas expressed by scientists participating in the SETI project. Gregory and James Benford - researchers from the University of California - believe that similar Twitter is on other planets.

The present principle of the search for other civilizations is based on the fact that the "brothers" also continuously send signals to space. But to send them far enough, it will take enormous energy costs, which is an unpardonable waste. Therefore, Benford believes that aliens can send their signal from space in a short message, similar to the one that people leave on Twitter. According to these scientists, humanity could simply skip a large number of such signals or catch them purely by chance, as happened with "Wow! Signal ».

More than 30 years, spacecraft flew in the universe and nothing, except for the knocking of their own electronic heart, did not pass. But at the end of April 2010, there was a huge event - Voyager 2 sent a signal from space, which he managed to take himself. He followed from that part of the universe, about which nothing is known to the inhabitants of our planet.
