A. Likhanov's story "Good intentions": summary, author's position and text analysis

You can not remain a child without a family. Who will teach him the ability to love this world? Who will give a sweet word? Who will protect from evil and cruelty? Who will turn away from bad influence?

And if there is no one? What then? A. Likhanov writes about the ways of correcting this cruel injustice in his novel "Good intentions".

"Good intentions ..." (On the story of A. Likhanov)

The book of Likhanov "Good intentions" is devoted to the problem of modern orphanhood. The brief content of the story can fit in a few words: the young teacher was filled with compassion for her orphans and tried to find their parents, but not all of her students could help, and then she herself replaced their mother. This work is one of the most important in the writer's work.

Albert Anatolievich Likhanov - the protector of childhood

When Albert Likhanov created this short, but such a profound work, he still hoped that abandoned children would not be left alone with their terrible misfortune. Therefore this bright optimism is permeated with this work.

It is impossible to return orphans of parents, but it is possible to protect a small citizen of a large country from this terrible misfortune. The fatherland will adopt, with the whole world it will lead to people - that's what the writer believed in 1981.

The writer enthusiastically embraced perestroika. He hoped for a turning point in the moral side of life and waited for a change in the position of the orphans for the better. But then, disappointed, said that all the people should be ashamed before the children for not done.

In his books, the author remains a convinced fighter with the deformities in the life of modern society. He considers the happiness of the child as the criterion of the nation's health, it is this that he tests how humane the world is.

And children in the country are still vulnerable to the cruel indifference of adults and are indifferent even to their loved ones. Albert Anatolievich Likhanov considers it his duty to remind contemporaries that a nation that does not care about children can not have a future.

The image of the protagonist

Likhanov himself believed that his work was not so much about a young teacher and her pupils as about true kindness, about the fact that the road to hell is not paved with good intentions, but with the inability to fulfill to the end its good intentions.

The image of the protagonist is the embodiment of such a person who is able to fulfill his duty to the end. And how attractive this image is! He admires the strength of character, dedication, honesty and love for children.

A retrospective story is the composition of Likhanov's novel "Good intentions". The summary of the story of the main character is as follows: a mature woman remembers her youth, the first independent steps in life that were difficult. Difficulties arise because Hope Victorious (as the director of the boarding school calls it) exclusively guided by her feelings was guided in everything. Pity for unhappy children struck her in the heart and awakened in her the desire to arrange their destinies. Feeling guilty before children affected by people who are not able to think about someone other than themselves, made her take responsibility for their destinies.

Guided by their feelings, the main character unerringly finds her calling - the service of good and duty.

People reveal themselves in relation to the child

It is necessary to completely immerse yourself in the world of relations between adults and children in Likhanov's work "Good intentions". The summary does not give a complete idea of the depth of this work.

In relation to the child, the person manifests itself as he is.

Childless couple Zaporozhtsev - people seemingly intelligent - obviously have a negative impact on the child, whom they choose among other children, focusing on the appearance as a thing.

The most beautiful girl is introduced into their family. After the first experience with them, she changed. Fur coats, beautiful dresses, expensive toys, a car on which it was taken and brought Zaporozhye, spoiled its character. Almost immediately she felt herself lifted above everything, privileged, special.

And the more painful it was for her to return after the betrayal of these two self-righteous philistines in her usual orphanage. Expressing her protest, Alla burns presents from former foster parents. Nadezhda Georgievna can not punish the child for the fire. She understands the girl well, but at the same time she is awakened by the belief that the betrayal of Zaporozhye is good for Allochka. Who would she have grown up in this family? A copy of the limited self-centered egoists?

Engineer Stepan Ivanovich, unlike Zaporozhets, refused from Seva Agapov for a reason not depending on him. In addition, he never said that he was going to adopt Seva. He sincerely worries, going on a long overseas business trip, and promises to immediately restore friendly relations with the boy on his return. Forced separation is dramatic not only for Seva, but also for Stepan Ivanovich. However, there are reasons to say that in this case the adult does not go to the end in his good intentions in his attitude towards the child.

You need to think carefully about reading the story "Good intentions". The analysis of the work will open up an understanding of the most incomprehensible things. An example of one such puzzle is Ani Nevzorova's relationship with her mother.

The lonely Evdokia Petrovna managed to become attached to the girl, but Anna is persecuted by her own mother, who has no parental rights. And on New Year's Eve she stole a girl. Further events testify to how dangerous the child is to contact with the mother who has watered the child with champagne.

Anechka, understanding everything about her mother, is very worried about her and refuses to be adopted by Evdokiya Petrovna. This is clearly the case when the child is internally spiritually stronger than an adult. Sharing her dreams with Nadezhda Georgievna, Anya sets out her plan for "adopting" her mother. And Nadezhda understands the extent to which the sprouts of responsibility in this little girl are strong, they are much stronger than in an adult woman deprived of her parental rights.

What gives such power to a small child? Love, forgiving, all-pervading, holy and simple love.

Happy family in Likhanov's story

There are examples of happy families in the story "Good intentions". A brief retelling of Nadezhda's relationship with her mother can serve as proof: Mum loves Nadia as she can, her daughter adores her mother. But one day the daughter comes out from under the mother's control. Mom was offended at first, and then forgave Nadezhda. My daughter was very happy about reconciliation, but she did not return to my mother. That's all. But this is the usual situation in every normal happy family.

This is the family of Apollinarevich Apollinarevich and Elena Evgenievna, director and head of the boarding school. Their son also suits parents for disobedience, but the mutual love of parents and children conquers everything.

The ideal family is the daughter and mother of Martynov. Natalia Martynova is the director of the orphanage where the children lived before they arrived at the orphanage.

This character is very important for understanding the idea of the whole work, although the image of Martynova is secondary to Likhanov's story "Good intentions". The summary of that part of the story, in which her biography is given, fits into several sentences. Fifty years has this woman given to orphans. The orphanage in which she works is an exemplary place. In it, truly everything is for children. But she would be glad if one day he closed.

And in this destiny, as in the mirror, the main idea of the whole story is reflected: if there are unhappy children, one must give all their lives to them in order to correct this terrible evil.

This woman lives with one passion - a love for destitute kids. She refused everything that interferes with her ministry. The daughter resembles her mother not only externally, she shares the difficult burden of responsibility that Natalia Ivanovna has taken on herself, and awe is read for her daughter.

There is something from the saints in the images of these two women, not for nothing that Likhanov, describing their portrait resemblance, mentions the icon-painting faces. And the relationship between mother and daughter is ideal for this reason: the saints do not quarrel among themselves, they have more important things to do - serving good and duty.

What makes it possible to call them saints? Again love. Only here it is not a question of love for your children, but of love for all children, for all people. It is appropriate to remember: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Here it is - the main idea of the work of Likhanov, and not only this, but every good work.

In the fate of these holy images, the future of Hope Victorious is also visible. These are the destinies of people who follow the road of good intentions to the end. And at the end of this path, not hell awaits them, but something else.
