12 mistakes that allergic people allow

Allergies are terrible. Nasal congestion, watery eyes, coughing and other symptoms can make life unbearable. But sometimes people themselves exacerbate their situation. The following are the 12 most common mistakes made by people with allergies, and reasonable ways to avoid them.

You leave the windows open

When the season of flowering of plants begins, take for a rule to keep windows closed, and the conditioner - included. Even if the street is not very hot, just set the air conditioner at the optimum temperature for yourself. And using an air conditioner in the car reduces the risk of inhaling allergens by as much as 30%. At least that's what doctors say from a medical center in California.

You are delaying taking medication

As soon as the season changes, the plants immediately eject pollen. Try to foresee such moments, always remember them, to protect yourself and timely preventive measures, otherwise the disease will immediately manifest itself. Also do not forget to take medicine, for example, on the eve of a visit to a friend who has pets.

Doctors say that allergy medicines work much better in terms of preventing symptoms than treating them. So do not wait until the disease takes you by surprise, and take preventive measures.

The same goes for asthma. It is better to take the medicine in advance than wait until it is impossible to breathe.

You often discard pollen

Doctors say that people should do their best to keep track of the beginning of flowering of allergy plants: listen to weather forecasts, study relevant literature and so on. That is, one must be fully armed, when such time will begin in your region.

The more information you get on this issue, the less likely that unpleasant symptoms will overtake you at the most inopportune moment.

You go in for sports at the wrong time

This is another very common mistake of allergies. Doctors say that if you like outdoor exercise, you should avoid morning and lunch hours for these purposes.

Grass and trees begin to "release" pollen during sunrise, and the peak of its concentration in the air falls just in the morning and noon. Doctors recommend running jogging to allergic people in the afternoon.

Perhaps you are in vain looking for an air purifier

Air purifiers for the room and all kinds of filters are extremely effective for removing pollen, animal hair, ordinary dust and other numerous allergens that enter the house from outside and not only.

But if you forget to close the windows and doors in the house, then such a device becomes completely useless, so it clears the air at a relatively short distance around itself, but not in the whole house, and certainly not on the street!

You ran out of Epipen

If you always have to carry "Epipen" (an immediate-action drug for stopping allergy symptoms), as you risk becoming a hostage to a serious allergic reaction. Always check the availability of the drug, watch its expiration date and do not forget to buy a new product if necessary!

Also do not keep this tool in the machine, so when it is heated it becomes much less effective.

Be sure to study the instructions for use in advance so you do not have to do it when you feel bad.

You always have a mess

Soft plush toys, of course, very lovely and charming, but, unfortunately, they are the most real magnet for dust and other allergens.

If your child has a lot of such "friends", and someone from the household has an allergy, it is better to get rid of plush cuties (for example, to give them to a shelter or to donate to needy families).

If you can not part with all the toys, then leave a couple of the most expensive and memorable for you, but do not forget to clean them regularly.

You ignore the symptoms

Any adult can "buy" an allergy at any time, even if nothing previously said about it.

For example, doctors say that if you need antibiotics to treat sinusitis every spring, you can assume the onset of the illness, that is, you can not postpone the visit to the doctor. Otherwise, you will simply take those medicines that have many side effects, but it will not be of any use.

Do not look after bedding

Love your cozy blanket stuffed with feathers? And it can turn into trouble, especially if you use it for a long time.

Feathers are a very powerful allergen that becomes even more aggressive with the years when they break down. Do not be afraid to part with your feather pillow or blanket, no matter how expensive and cozy they are. Synthetics as a filler will be ideal for allergy sufferers.

You sleep with your pet

Of course, it is very pleasant when a soft fluffy lump (dog or cat) comes to you to sleep at night, but do not forget that this is a very strong allergen.

And even if you do not have allergies to animals, they can always bring on their wool pollen, dust, mold and other "joys". It is best to avoid hugs with pets in bed.

Doctors say that the bedroom is a place that must be hypoallergenic, so it is better to go there alone, without foreign objects, not to put carpets there.

You have a hypoallergenic pet

Unfortunately, there is absolutely no hypoallergenic animal, except, of course, snakes or lizards.

And let people say that some breeds will cause an allergy less than others, experts say that any fluffy animal will cause unpleasant symptoms, even naked cats and dogs - allergens. People do not sneeze at all because of their hair, but because of the protein contained in the saliva and urine of animals!

You think that the bird in the house is normal

Unfortunately, this is also an allergen. Doctors say that only one bird can bring a lot of trouble to a person, since the allergy to it does not appear immediately, but comes much later and in severe form.

Doctors ask all people prone to allergies not to have pets. And if you already have them along with unpleasant symptoms, then it is better to give your pets to relatives or friends.
