The truck ZIL-MMZ 555 was produced on the basis of the 130th model. The dump truck is mainly designed for work in the agrarian sector, however it can be used for transportation of bulk cargo in construction and other industrial areas. The ZIL-MMZ 555 dump truck is equipped with an eight-cylinder motor with liquid cooling, which is a converted version of the engine, which is installed on the ZIL-111 representative class cars.

Since the mid-seventies of the last century, the 157D was assembled, which was more economical. This six-cylinder engine with a capacity of 110 "horses", running on AI-72 and AI-76 fuel.

Hydraulics and steering

It consists of a reservoir for working fluid (capacity - 17 liters), a mechanical pump (driven by a power take-off shaft) and a lift hydraulic cylinder. The power take-off assembly aggregates with the rear gear of the switching box, providing a power transformation of about 4.5 horsepower.

Electric and brake system

The brake unit is a drum unit on all wheels. A pneumatic system is provided for triggering the brakes. The machine is equipped with an axle with a rear drive, a dry single-plate clutch, a five-speed gearbox with a pair of synchronizers. The unit has a permanent pinion of the gear, except for the first and back speed, which at that time was a novelty. The gearbox transmits the torque from the power unit to the rear axle via a propshaft. The standard variant of the truck and the long-bodied version were equipped with two shafts on an intermediate support attached to the frame.

Modernization of the checkpoint

Interior
