It was then that Vladislav II, acting Lithuanian-Polish king, signed his decree on the creation of a higher university in Wroclaw. But, unfortunately, that time was characterized by constant conflicts and wars taking place on the territories adjacent to Wroclaw, and this idea was launched. Instead of the university in 1638, a school was opened, and already on its basis in 1702 the Jesuit Order, according to the decree of Leopold I (Roman emperor), opens a university called Leopoldina.
