Works by VP Astafyev. Summary "Last Bow"

Before touching the famous work of Viktor Petrovich Astafiev "Last Bow", I would like to stay on the author himself. He lived between 1924 and 2001. He was an excellent writer and prose writer of the Soviet era, who devoted all his work to the theme of the Russian people and their national heritage.

What will the reader tell us? "Last Bow" actually included a huge number of picturesque sketches, showing all the beauty of rural nature, leading to subtle moral perception and serving as a support and purification of the human soul.

If we talk about the language on which this book Astafyev wrote, then he was very special and colorful. Immediately you feel a huge human love for your long-suffering country and for ordinary people.

Summary. "The Last Bow"

All this is beautifully conveyed by the book. Astafyev "Last Bow" was presented as an autobiographical work. He spent twenty years working on it (from 1958 to 1978). The plot covers many epoch-making events.

The book "The Last Bow" serves as a kind of confession of the generation, because the writer's childhood fell precisely on the difficult and critical 30th and 40th years. But he had to grow up sharply in the war years.

Country life

In the book The Last Bow, the chapters of the story are separate stories, beginning with the most hungry village childhood, but, according to the writer himself, a happy and carefree time.

The protagonist is the half-hat boy Vitya Potylitsyn, whose mother drowned in the Yenisei, and his father drank and walked. For a long time the boy was brought up in the village at the grandmother of Katerina Petrovna. And then immediately it must be noted that it was she who put in her grandson the basic life concepts of honesty, decency, diligence, the right attitude to bread and money. Then it all came in handy and helped him survive in the most difficult circumstances of life.

Childhood

Vitya was no different from other village children, he tried to help the elders, and the rest of his free time was amusing himself with his peers. His grandmother all wanted to be useful and caring for everyone, her character was strong and powerful, and at the same time affectionate and kind. She loved children, and they were always happy for her.

But Vitkino did not last long, it was time to go to school, and he had to go to the city to his father and stepmother. Here he went through a school of survival. The time was post-revolutionary, around the time there was dekulakization. Many families remained homeless, starving, and some were sent to a settlement or, worse, to hard labor.

Survival School

Next, a very brief content is filled with very sad colors. "Last bow" tells that Vitka, having moved to his father, realized that no one here is needed. No one understood his relatives, the conflicts began in the school. When he lived with his grandmother, they also had a lot of things that were not enough, but here he was always warm and cozy, the boy felt close to his grandmother protected, and in the city he was terribly lonely, he became coarse and became cruel. But still then the grandmother's upbringing and her prayers took over and gave the impetus to live. The work describes all the hardships of Victor's life. After studying at the factory factory course, he was sent to the war.

House

When the war ended, Victor immediately went to his native village to see his grandmother. He made his way to the house through the kitchen gardens and rhepas, his heart was beating with excitement. He entered the grandmother's room literally on tiptoe. Grandmother, as in former times, sat near the window and rolled up threads. Victor thought that a whole black storm of war flew over the world, millions of people died in the fight against the fascists, new states were formed, in general, so many changes occurred, and here, at my grandmother's, calmly, quietly and peacefully, the same cotton curtain hangs on Window, cabinet, stove, cast iron. Grandmother was extremely pleased with her grandson, immediately hugged and crossed it. Her voice sounded calm and gentle, as if he had not returned from the war, but from fishing, where they often lingered with their grandfather. She immediately confessed that she prayed for him day and night, for the moment she lived. And now, after waiting for the grandson of the war, she can die in peace.

Astafyev: "The Last Bow"

At that time, my grandmother was 86 years old, and her last request was that the grandson come to bury her. But this did not end with a brief summary. "Last bow" continued with the fact that the grandson could not keep his word. When he received a telegram, and at that time he worked in the Urals, his superiors did not let him go, since they were only allowed to go to the funeral of the closest relatives , father or mother. Therefore, Victor Petrovich could not get out, which he regretted all his life and thought that if this happened today, he would certainly have fled, and if necessary, would have crawled from the Urals to Siberia. In him, until the end of his days, this wine lived, quiet and oppressive. But for all that, he knew that his grandmother forgave him, for she always loved her granddaughter very much.
