Wooden houses

Wooden houses. Correct finish.

How to cover a wooden house? What compositions will not harm the tree, and protect it from fungus, mold and other harmful environmental influences? Let's try to figure it out. To begin with, you need to know some features of wooden houses to understand what kind of finish they need. So:

Firstly, let's turn to history, from time immemorial in Russia they built wooden houses, in such a house a person feels a special unity with nature and with himself. It makes no sense to make out a country house in the style of a city apartment, it is much better to preserve its color and attractive identity.

Secondly, the tree breathes. Even in a closed room, heat and moisture exchange occurs. In damp weather the tree takes away the moisture, and in the dry one it is let out. If we cover the tree with materials that do not allow air to pass through, we will only break the inherent microclimate, and there will be no benefit from such a house.

Thirdly, the tree has a unique pattern and texture, there is no identical arrangement of fibers and branches, no one will have the same house. Why close such beauty?

Fourthly, houses from rounded logs should give a fairly long shrinkage, so it is more reasonable to start finishing work after six months or a year. Because during shrinkage materials can crack.

Fifth, the wooden house needs a special protective finish, otherwise the tree will quickly lose its attractiveness under the influence of time and environment, fungi and mold may appear. And the fight against the consequences is much more difficult than preventing them. The downside here is that this treatment should be repeated every 10-20 years, depending on the manufacturer of the composition.

You can decorate some parts of the walls with natural or artificial stone. Such design solutions can revitalize the room. But in general, you can do with impregnating and / or dyeing compounds.

Impregnating compounds penetrate deep into the pores of the tree, without interfering with its breathing, and yet protecting against fungi and defeat by insects. And, of course, it is necessary to treat the walls with fire retardant, it gives the tree the ability to heat up more slowly, and also, when heated, it emits gases that prevent combustion. This will greatly reduce the possibility of a fire.

Textured coatings for processing.

Now in Europe, water-based coatings are very common, which are environmentally friendly and odorless, they can be used even in children's rooms. With the help of them a protective film is formed on the surface of the wood , which perfectly repels water and dirt, but lets steam and air pass.

An important difference of modern coatings is that they allow the tree to breathe. A special role is played by water-and-dispersion paints, which have in their composition dye pigments that do not show through the texture of the tree, but impart a color. What is especially important for children's rooms, there is an excellent opportunity to give them a bright color, which will contribute to the child's good development and his imagination. Some of the water-dispersion paints already have protective components in their composition, and you will only have to cover the wood with paint.

What type of coatings to choose - it's up to you, depending on what kind of result you want to achieve.
