Women policemen in Russia

Work in the police is very difficult. Both physically and morally. It would seem that this work is simply created for men. But there are female policemen who successfully cope with this position. What is their work? Who are they - female policemen? The answers to these questions are in the article.

Historical reference

Women policemen appeared for the first time on the territory of the Russian Empire in 1916. By this time, representatives of the fair sex met in the ranks of military personnel, but they were allowed to hold positions that did not involve access to classified documentation.

After the October Revolution, the situation changed somewhat. Theoretically, there was equality between the male and female parts of the population, which the new government officially proclaimed. In practice, however, female policemen appeared in the ranks of the public watchdogs of the law only when there was a shortage of men. As a rule, representatives of the weaker sex were sent to work in factories and factories. Their duties included the examination of women workers in order to identify cases of theft of state property. Changes occurred in the mid-forties, after the end of the Second World War. Then in the ranks of the Soviet militia there were about twenty thousand women. Of these, almost a quarter was involved in the criminal investigation.

What should be a woman to become a successful policeman

To date, the Russian police accept women into their ranks. There are no restrictions on gender. The prerequisite for hiring is the availability of higher education, good health and an excellent reputation. Also take into account biographical information about the applicant. Refusal in work can be caused even by the fact that a relative of a potential police officer served a sentence in places of deprivation of liberty. A plus in the selection of a new employee from several is service in the army, although for women it is not necessary. But even if all these qualities of the applicant match the required, the police of the Russian Federation does not guarantee 100% employment. Next comes a medical commission, which, as a rule, is not everyone.

Positions held by female police officers

Most often, women meet in such services as passport control and migration department. Many female police officers successfully manifest themselves in the role of juvenile inspectors. Paper work is also in the hands of women. Women in police often sit in headquarters or are engaged in personnel office work. However, the fair sex today is less willing to stay in a warm room. They can be found in such positions as investigator, criminalist, investigator and even escort. And the colonies also always expect new employees to join their ranks. Often, Russian police officers give themselves up to a career in the justice system.

Difficulties awaiting women in the service

The greatest difficulty for female policemen is the high level of psychological strain at work. Also, when working in the police, the fair sex is faced with a non-standardized schedule of work, the need for strict compliance with the statute. In view of these circumstances, they have to deal with problems of misunderstanding in the family. In Russia, not every man is ready to accept the fact that his wife is not always at home. In this regard, many women leave the service, since they prefer the whole family.

But, despite this fact, women, strangely enough, are increasingly eager to enter the service. In the ranks of the police of the Russian Federation, they are becoming more and more every year. Those women who take root in the profession, cause respect and admiration from fellow men.
