What is dangerous nodal mastopathy?

Mastopathy is considered to be a precancerous condition, but not every form of this disease is considered potentially dangerous. To date, mastopathy is divided into two types: diffuse and nodal. "Pre-cancer" is that mastopathy, which, with a histological examination, gives a pronounced proliferation of the epithelium in the enlarged ducts and cysts. Such patients are most often under the dynamic supervision of an oncologist. Prevention of cancer today is the treatment of chronic gynecological diseases, increasing immunity and eliminating functional disorders from the nervous system.

What is nodal mastopathy?

Sometimes mastopathy manifests itself in the form of benign nodal formations that appear in the tissues of the mammary glands in women of mostly young age. These women are put a preliminary diagnosis - nodal mastopathy. The exact diagnosis is established by ultrasound or mammography, followed by a histological examination of the material (imprint of the nipple), puncture is done only when seals are detected. With nodular mastopathy , dense nodes of different sizes appear in the mammary glands , often they form in both mammary glands and can be single or multiple. Do not despair, if the doctor has diagnosed you with "nodal mastopathy", modern methods of treatment can eliminate unpleasant signs of the disease and return the woman to the usual way of life.

Diagnosis of nodal mastopathy

The danger of nodular mastopathy is that it can well become a prerequisite for the development of breast cancer. Therefore, the first pain in the mammary glands should be a signal for examination by specialists. Modern diagnostic tools allow the doctor-mammologist to immediately detect benign neoplasms and prescribe appropriate treatment. With the help of palpation, a specialist can determine the granularity and lobulation of tissues, and ultrasound confirms or refutes the preliminary diagnosis. As a rule, no manifestations of pathology are observed on the skin of the mammary glands above the nodes. When palpation is detected, hard seals in the form of "thorns". The mastopathy nodal disease often develops on the background of a diffuse and represents a real threat to the health of a woman.

Nodal mastopathy. Treatment and prevention

Treatment for nodular mastopathy is only surgical, since the nodes do not disappear under the influence of conservative treatment. Sectoral resection can remove part of the breast with nodes, it is performed immediately after the histological examination was performed . Unfortunately, sectoral resection of the mammary gland is not a panacea for all troubles, with its help only the part of the breast that is the most developed pathological process is removed. New manifestations of proliferation after sectoral resection are common, and 3-5% of women may develop breast cancer after sectoral resection . After the operation, the mammalian doctor will prescribe medication and observation at least once every three months.

There is reliable information that the risk of developing mastopathy and breast cancer is much higher in nulliparous women than those who gave birth to children and made abortions. High morbidity is observed among nuns, as well as among single women, among women suffering from nicotine and alcohol dependence, among patients with diabetes mellitus, renal insufficiency and hypertension. Hence we can conclude that healthy family relationships are an excellent prevention of cancer, moreover, the birth and upbringing of children brings a lot of pleasant emotions to our lives.
