What is a menhir? Vertically placed stone blocks. Age of menhirs

On our planet there are many mystical places, where there is a huge number of riddles, stirring the minds of not only scientists, but also ordinary people. Our ancestors left a unique cultural heritage, which contains many secrets, and for several centuries researchers have been studying high stone blocks rising above the earth. Some of them stand alone, others are built in a closed ring or semicircle, others form whole alleys from massive pillars.

Some are ascending, others are leaning towards the ground, and it seems that they are about to fall, but for five or six thousand years this has not happened yet.

Types of megaliths

First of all, I must say that prehistoric structures of stone blocks, related to the pre-literate epoch, are divided into several groups: dolmens, menhirs, cromlechs. Scientists know stone barrows, boat-shaped graves and covered galleries.

Let's see what the ancient megaliths are. Menhir is a single, vertically standing stone, and when there are a lot of such blocks and they form a circular shape, then this is already a whole group, called cromlech.

Dolmen - a building made of one stone, which is placed on other slabs. Most often it resembles the letter "P", and the most striking representative of the megalith is the English Stonehenge. Such stone houses were erected near the burial mounds, but there are also known constructions far from burials.

Sacred Stone

So what is a menhir? Scientists consider it the first man-made structure, which has survived to the present day. It is a sacred stone established by man, dating back to the era of the Eneolithic (transition period from the Neolithic to the Bronze Age). Science does not know the true purpose of these colossi, many of which are well studied by scientists.

It is believed that the menhirs of Brittany are best studied, but such architectural complexes are scattered throughout the land, but there is no evidence of a people who established them. We do not have material evidence at our disposal, and everything we can rely on is ancient legends, as well as unconfirmed hypotheses.

The cult-building

According to one version, the stone pillars of the earth served as beacons, and their location is very similar to a signal system. On the other - it is believed that these are ancient tombstones, but this theory is not supported by all scientists, because not every menhir found traces of burial.

Whatever their function, one thing is clear: they all served the cult, and the traditions of venerating the stone deities of the ancient peoples, which are known in our day, shed some light on secular secrets. It is known that in Greece the huge tetrahedral pillars at the crossroads were dedicated to Hermes, and in Rome the columns to which gifts were presented in honor of the God of Borders were rubbed with oils and decorated with flowers. Anyone who accidentally pushed such stones, was considered forever damned.

Help ancient agronomists?

There is another theory by which megalithic monuments with healing energy were used to correct the deficiencies of the soil. Earth, permeated with currents, needed their balancing, and menhirs in this helped the ancient agronomists. After the equalization of energy by unknown ways for us, people achieved high yields, restoring the lost balance.

Here, the hypothesis of a living organism-nature, to which our ancestors respectfully applied-has been reflected and tried to help its sick body in its own way.

Stones in places of geological faults

It is possible that the menhirs, whose photos transmit the special power of the ancient structures, were border stones that did not share the neighboring territories, but something else. Therefore, there is another hypothesis, according to which stones were placed in the places where tectonic faults of the earth's crust occurred and the energy emerging from the bowels came out to the surface. They stood in the geopathic zones, and, as our ancestors believed, there were two worlds - people and gods - in such places.

The revered pillars of the earth have always been considered the focus of energy - the very power that is designed to protect from all adversity and keep the world from dying. It happened that the peoples who came to replace others, protected artifacts and used the stones repeatedly, applied their inscriptions to them and even changed their form, turning the high columns into idols for worship.

Guardians of the borders and souls of the dead

And when it comes to talking about what a menhir really is, many are confident of his protective purpose. In Brittany, there was a tradition of installing a stone throne, kindling a fire and waiting for the souls of deceased relatives to sit down on the headboard to warm themselves around the fire. Such ensembles, constructed by the hands of a man, served as a guarantee that the world will continue to exist, and if they stand, the end of time is postponed.

It was believed that the ancient obelisk will work when it is in a special zone, at the point of intersection of force fields or over the graves of ancestors. Strongly stretched up boulders are found in different peoples. For example, in Palestine such stones were revered as dwellings of spirits, and people respectfully treated them and tried not to irritate their departed predecessors living in slabs.

Mysteries of megaliths that go deep into the earth

Sacred stones are monuments of a bygone era, when an ancient person began to realize himself and his place in the world around him. They are studied by scientists, and the well-known traveler, Professor Ernst Muldashev has repeatedly investigated the megaliths mysterious in many mysteries. Menhirs, scattered throughout Europe, are not always high, but go deep into the earth.

Muldashev says that in Central Asia, in places inaccessible to people, he saw stone pillars more reminiscent of periscopes, and according to the testimony of Tibetan lamas, these are not just sacred plates, but Shambhala antennas, through which the underworld observes the living. They pass energy through themselves in the same way as heat, thanks to the crystal structure.

Stone is a battery of energy

For several millennia, a huge stone block has accumulated natural magnetism. The northern peoples believed that the plates absorb energy from the environment and give it to those who worship the natural giants. The stones seemed to be a kind of accumulator, amplifying vibration and allowing you to introduce a person into an altered state, awakening the sleeping abilities in it.

Menhirs of the village of Ahunovo

One of the largest groups of menhirs is in the village of Ahunovo (Bashkiria), which draws the attention of specialists studying the abnormal zones. In a small village are collected all the cult buildings of the prehistoric era. And mysterious monuments of nature, near which flying objects appear at night, immediately disappearing in the rocks, clearly have a special energy.

Muldashev, who researched dolmens, menhirs, cromlechs, explained that such formations connect the terrestrial and subterranean worlds, but to the full solution of the true purpose of the sacred artifacts is very far.

Bashkirian Stonehenge

What are the famous Akhunov pillars? Thirteen stone giants, which are the world's oldest megalithic complex, bear the unofficial name "Bashkirian Stonehenge." Many researchers are inclined to the version that it is an ancient observatory, oriented to the ends of the world. It allowed astronomers who lived in the Neolithic era to determine the dates of the equinox, and also to keep the calendar. Scientists who deciphered the location of stones, said that menhirs (a photo of the ancient complex confirms this) is a miniature scheme of the solar system.

In addition, rituals were held here, allowing the priests to change their consciousness, as a result of which they acquired new knowledge and strength.

Menhirs of Khakassia

In the Askiz region of Khakassia, local residents themselves can tell what the menhir is, since there are 50-ton blocks in this territory, reaching a height of three meters. The mysterious atmosphere of this corner attracts tourists and scientists who established the age of the pillars - four thousand years. It is curious that on some stones human faces were cut out.

After numerous studies, zones of tectonic faults in the earth's crust that affect the human body have been identified. In Soviet times menhirs were excavated and are now in the museum, and when the question arose of bringing them back to where they had stood earlier, it turned out that the exact location had been lost.

Two stone pillars survived, near which sacrifices were made, and now people believe in the healing properties of megaliths.

The Bakhchsarai menhir

The high stone found in the Crimea was once part of a whole complex, the purpose of which is still being debated. The Bakhchisaray menhir, about four meters in height, was artificially installed several millennia ago, but its exact age is still unknown. A wave of interest in the megalith appeared at the end of the 20th century after the observatory worker put forward a version of the astronomical orientation of the stone pillar.

Studies continue, and when the question arises about what a menhir is, modern scientists are unlikely to give an unambiguous answer.
