Weaving from newspapers with our own hands - my experience and my achievements

A whole year in my life moved. Changing cities and addresses, my husband and I traveled through the expanses of Asia. Settled for a while in one city, then moved to the next. So I could not get a job or make a lot of friends.

By nature, being absolutely non-sluggish person, I could not sit quietly idle for more than 20 minutes. In search of employment I came across a pile of newspapers and magazines collected by the housekeeper. And then a brilliant idea visited me: what if I began to study the weaving from newspapers with my own hands? After wandering around the Internet, I was surprised and delighted to find a lot of master classes and lessons on how to weave products from newspapers. Of course, I was immediately inspired by beautiful pictures and end results.

In the drawings everything seemed very simple and understandable. In fact, everything turned out to be much more complicated. Firstly, the newspaper tubes did not want to be as elegant and slender as they were shown on the websites. Secondly, weaving from newspapers with our own hands is a laborious process for the beginner: my first basket turned out only after 5 hours. And my expectations did not justify. But until now this box is my favorite: after all, it was she who started my fascination with gassing. This is my first creation:

To achieve a good result, you should take into account both the direction of the weave and the angle of the knitting needle, on which you wind a paper slice. Also, do not forget to hold the tension of the tube and lubricate its tip with glue. The longest process is the preparation of tubes. Then you need to choose a technique: weaving from newspapers and magazines can be spiral, one tube or several. Before you start directly to the weave, you can paint the tubes in the desired color, so that later they do not suffer from staining of miniature bends.

Spiral weaving from newspapers with their own hands gave the following results: this miniature casket serves as a repository for my bead crafts.

To store make-up brushes and all kinds of cosmetic pencils, I made two completely identical cups. A small basket is the container of all kinds of sponge, cotton buds, etc.

A charming pair of mother-of-pearl candlesticks is decorated with a coffee table standing in the corner of the corridor.

Paper flowers found their shelter in a high vase:

And this wreath adorned the front door:

I also got acquainted with the technique of weaving one and several tubes. Manicure accessories are now stored in my first big job:

A variety of business cards are collected in this black and white box:

And this little table my husband nicknamed "elephant legs." The basis of the legs of the table is the middle part of the plastic two-liter bottle:

The first florets from newspapers look like this:

The closest friends have a paper slip made:

Once I came up with the idea not to weave pipes between each other, but to glue them together. From the glued canvas I made a bottle stand and a holder for jewelry.

Weaving from newspapers with our own hands - the occupation is quite versatile and diverse. From newspapers you can build not only a variety of jewelry boxes, but also jewelry, and bags, and furniture.
