Water pressure switch - a guarantee of stable operation of the water supply system

The modern water supply system, especially when it comes to apartment buildings, is not always able to provide the necessary stable pressure of water. In this case, small, but multifunctional water pumps that integrate into the system and the water pressure switch will come to the rescue, due to which the pump is switched on and off periodically.

The principle of operation of almost all water pressure switches is quite simple. The liquid entering the reservoir acts on the valve or membrane. This puts them on the necessary distance. When the pressure drops below the set threshold, the relay trips and the pump starts to operate, pumping pressure up to the upper set threshold. As soon as the pressure reaches this level, the water pressure switch again triggers and deactivates the running pump. The upper threshold, at which the water pressure switch will operate, can easily be adjusted independently.

Adjustment of the pressure switch is made with the help of special washers and nuts both in the direction of increase and in the direction of decreasing pressure. It all depends on what indicator is needed for a stable head of water in the faucet. The installation of the water pressure switch is performed on the hydraulic accumulator body, and the best option is to mount the pressure gauge at the same time, which will allow you to monitor the entire workflow and make all the necessary adjustments correctly.

Given that the water pressure switch has a fairly simple operating principle, it is extremely rare for technical reasons. However, despite the simplicity of the work, its quality must meet the established standards. Otherwise, if it fails, it can lead to a breakdown of the accumulator or the breakthrough of the pipe, but, as the most worst option, the engine will simply burn out. One of the weakest places of the pressure switch is a valve or a diaphragm. Therefore, the first thing to do in case of failure is to check the condition of these elements of the device.

Adjustment, as already mentioned above, can be done independently. The main one is carried out with the help of two screws, one of which is responsible for the operation of the device between the on-off periods, and the other - only at the moment of the relay operation. All adjustment work is carried out only in accordance with the data of the manometer. Greater accuracy is achieved by a step in the half turn or one rotation of the screws. Often, even after adjustment, the required pressure can not be reached. If this happens, the cause must already be sought in the pump. Sometimes this may be due to the technical capabilities of the relay itself, its operating range. Then either you can independently modify the device, or change to a more perfect model.

The pressure switch must be connected strictly according to the attached diagram. First connect the ground terminals, then the network connection, and then the motor connection terminals. With the correct connection and settings made, the water supply system can be forgotten for a long time.
