VAZ 2103: tuning and refinement with their own hands

Improvement of cars at all times was an urgent topic. Even in the Soviet Union, motorists tried to improve the VAZ 2103.   • Mounting foam. The cheapest option for making tuning parts for a car. After solidification of the material, almost any part can be cut out of it. The downside of use is that it has an unstable structure and is destroyed when exposed to heat.

Masters of car tuning can offer a low roof option. In this case, the outer pillars of the body are shortened by 5 cm. The car interior becomes lower, accordingly, all doors and glass will need to be reduced. This kind of tuning is considered professional and it's quite hard to make it with your own hands.

Interior Tuning

Many motorists to improve comfort refine the interior of the VAZ 2103. Tuning salon in this case can be very diverse. Seats are pulled by quality material or are changed to sports, for example, ProSport or Sparko.

  • Boring and finishing. In this version, it is necessary to baste the cylinder block for the piston group with a diameter of 82. Install the spark plugs on the Brisk and the high-voltage wires "Tesla". Also it is necessary to put carburettor DAAZ 2107 with the bored jets. Using the mounting of high saddles, raise the valve by 2 mm.
  • The air filter of "zero resistance" is considered to be mandatory for installation. It is also recommended to completely replace the cooling system, since the factory version with tuning engine will not cope and can lead to overheating and deflection of cylinder head.
  • Another option to refine the VAZ engine is to install a lightweight clutch "Sachs", which will make it possible to use the transmission more efficiently.

Tuning of undercarriage and suspension

Modification of the chassis and suspension is easy enough. Since in this classic series the ball bearings remain an important problem, they should be replaced by reinforced ones from the DMZ. Double front and rear stabilizer "ProSport" will keep the car at a speed.

Sports levers will make VAZ soft, shock absorbers and DTW springs will reduce ground clearance. At the same time for fans of high landing, it is proposed to replace the native spare parts with "Zhiguli" ones - from model 2104. Another important nuance remains the installation of disks and tires for VAZ 2103. The tuning of this assembly may not be limited to the dimensions of R13, R14 or R15. But it is worth remembering that the choice of disks will depend on whether you need a replacement hub, suitable for fastening.

Improved management

To improve the steering usually use sport steering rods, which are developed by the company "ProSport". Replacement is carried out in a regular mode. Another option is to install the steering rack from the model 2107 with electric power steering, which will facilitate the management.

Tuning of brake system

The braking system, like the other nodes, can also be redone. The same company ProSport offers a full set of brake tuning. Sporting drums with pads are mounted as standard parts, which does not cause any inconvenience. Brake tubes and cylinders have standard fasteners.

Installing the sports version of the parking brake also does not create difficulties. The only nuance is that the cables will have to be shortened by 40-50 cm, since they are designed for the VAZ 2110 model. The parking brake knob can be replaced with a sports brake or the entire assembly can be assembled.
