It is safe to say that one of the most popular teenage TV series of our time is the "Vampire Diaries". Season 7 (release date, description of the first few series and everything connected with it) intrigued the fans of the vampire saga long before its release. The fans of the series were waiting for the premiere of new episodes like never before. Let's try to figure out why this is connected, and should we expect pleasant surprises from the filmmakers?

Season 7: Preparation for Shooting

It's impossible to describe how the expected series "Vampire Diaries" was expected in 2015: season 7, the description and the plot of the film excited the audience long before the premiere of the new series. It's all because after the sixth season the project was abandoned by the performer of the main role - Nina Dobrev, who for many years played Elena Gilbert.

Spectators have become accustomed to the fact that all six seasons the plot revolves around the love triangle of Elena and the two vampire brothers Salvatore. But for 133 episodes, this topic is fed up with even the most avid fans of the series. Nina Dobrev, apparently, realized that she did not expect anything more interesting in this project, and in 2014 she announced that she was leaving him. On the one hand, the fans of the vampire saga experienced a shock, and on the other hand, were intrigued, because the producers made the bold decision to extend the series for another season - that means they had some "trump card" in their sleeves.

October 8, 2015 was the premiere of the first series of the seventh season, which was watched by 1.38 million viewers. For comparison: the pilot series of the project was watched by 4 million. But by the sixth season the screens had only "the most persistent", so the rating did not exceed 1.8 million viewers. Producers breathed out with relief: each series consistently collects near the screens an audience of 1.5-1.8 million.

After Nina left the "Diaries", conditionally the main characters were Stefan performed by Paul Wesley and Caroline, performed by Candice Accola. In the new season, we will not see either Jeremy Gilbert (Stephen McQueen), Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino), or Joe Laughlin (Jodi O'Keefe). Although some of them will appear in the frame for just a couple of minutes.

In a word, Santa Barbara is resting. Do not shy the creators of the project and their "worn" reception: resurrect, when they need it for the rating, long-dead heroes. In the new season, we again see a short-term return to the screens of Alaric's beloved Joe (however, she is still "killed") - and even Tyler Lockwood, who appears in the frame for a couple of minutes.

But if the first episode wanted to watch 1.38 million viewers, then the seventh episode broke all the negative records - they were only interested in 1.10 million viewers. If the rating continues to fall, the channel The CW Television Network will finish this story in May 2016 and start looking for other stories that might interest the viewer.
