The UEFA primary conditions for countries wishing to host the tournament were put forward in the summer of 2009. The end conditions

Where will the European Football Championship 2020 take place? The question was of interest to many countries. The answer everyone expected to hear in January 2013. Instead, UEFA said that the UEFA Euro-2012 matches will host 13 cities. They were selected later, but in the winter conditions were put forward:

• Twelve cities will take four games: three matches of the group round and one play-off game. Semifinal and final fights will be held in the thirteenth city.
• One country had the opportunity to set up a single arena.

List of candidates

• Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Wales first fought for the opportunity to hold a European championship.
• Azerbaijan and Georgia. Georgia has never participated in the struggle to hold a major football competition. Azerbaijan fought for EURO 2012.

In addition to these countries, they fought for the European Championship-2020, but then refused to participate:

• Bulgaria, Hungary and Romania.
• Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia.

• Latvia and Estonia. Estonian football management will enter the fight for the European Championship-2024.
• Turkey.

Selection

In addition to the above changes, the qualification will also pass by other rules. Directly in the qualifying groups will get twenty teams. All will be divided into ten groups. In April 2014, UEFA confirmed nineteen applications and chose where the European Football Championship-2020 will be held. Countries left applications in two versions.
