Trembler - what is it and what is it for?

The article will tell you about such an element of the car as a trampler. What it is and what it is needed for, what kinds are, what are the basic principles of its functioning, you will learn from this material. Domestic cars have several types of ignition system - contact, contactless, microprocessor. If you look at the history of development of all these systems, you can find that there are intermediate modifications. But they, as a rule, have not received wide distribution. For example, contact-transistor, in which the breaker commutes a section of the low-current circuit.

Contact ignition

A good example is the system and the tracer 2106. On the "classics" only contact ignition was used, on models, starting with the VAZ-2109, only the electronic one was installed. If you close your eyes to all the shortcomings, you can see the obvious advantages of the contact system - simplicity and cheapness. There are no complex and scarce elements, but the reliability of those that are installed is extremely small. And all this is due to the fact that a lot of friction is present in the system. Sometimes a spark starts to disappear, the engine "hurts", it works unstably.

In this case, the culprits can be two - carburetor or ignition. In particular, the trambler - what is it, why does it cause this behavior? The fact is that the contact group is constantly on the move. In addition, between the cams constantly skips a spark, which leaves a deposit on them. Because of this, the contact is broken, the installed gap is changed. And the best way out is by replacing the band and adjusting the gap.

Electronic (non-contact) ignition

It can be found on the VAZ cars of the classic series of the second half of the 90s, as well as on all cars, starting from 2108, produced before the beginning of the 2000s. The fact is that in the beginning of the 21st century, injection injection systems were actively used, and for controlling them a slightly different ignition design is required. The main difference between the contactless system and the one considered above is the absence of a contact breaker.

Instead, the 2109 trampler, for example, is equipped with a non-contacting sensor that operates on the Hall effect. All control takes place on circuits with low current and voltage. The required pulse frequency is set by the Hall sensor, but from it there is one control wire to the switch. In addition, it also serves to work the tachometer in the dashboard. Note that some craftsmen make some kind of anti-theft systems. The wire from the tachometer is connected to the ground using a secret switch. As a result, the ignition does not work at all.

Contactless ignition control

On cars VAZ-2108 and newer, on which the electronic ignition is installed, it is very easy to set the timing of the lead. The most important thing is to install the distributing and crankshafts on the marks. Please note that it's impossible to put a trambler (which is what you already know). The fact is that it is mounted on the camshaft in one position, it is simply impossible to turn 90 or 180 degrees.

So, when you put the marks on the shafts and installed the timing belt, you can proceed with fine adjustment. The tumbler must be located on the axis in such a way that the mark on the head of the block head is in front of the middle line. In this case, the ignition timing will be 0 degrees. Rotating the body of the trambler clockwise or counterclockwise, you can change the lead angle to a smaller or larger side. You must perform these actions, provided that you have at least a stroboscope.

Treadmill construction

The ignition distributor, or the trampler (what it is, every car enthusiast knows) consists of several elements. First, it's a metal case. It is made of aluminum alloy, it favorably affects the level of protection against interference. Secondly, the rotor of the trambler, which connects to the runner and the camshaft. Thirdly, the slider itself, which has two contacts - external and internal (in the center). The internal voltage is high, it is removed from the external voltage and is applied to the contacts in the cover of the switch. Between the internal and external contacts is the resistance. It is necessary to absorb interference. Inside the case there are several elements - Hall sensor, vacuum and centrifugal ignition angle controllers. All these elements allow the engine to function under normal conditions under all conditions.

Conclusion

Now you have found out where the WHA trampler is applied, and also how it works. On modern cars, this mechanism is completely eliminated, since all control of the supply of a spark occurs through a complex system of sensors and actuators. And the adjustment of the advance angle occurs only by changing the software in the electronic control module.
