To the house master: how to fix drywall

The answer to the question of how to fix drywall will be different depending on the kind of surfaces that you want to trim with this material. The mounting methods are divided into glue and frame.

How to fix drywall with glue

This option is suitable for finishing only perfectly flat walls. Most often, gypsum glue is used (for example, Knauf Perlfix). Apply it relatively large drops along the entire perimeter of the GCR. Distance between points is about 25 cm. Also fix the sheet and in the middle, placing glue drops through 35 cm along its middle line.

To use this method on a wall far from perfect, use the so-called "beacon". This is a horizontal strip of gypsum board segments that are attached to the ceiling and floor before installing the main sheet. The location of the "beacons" is determined by the plumb line, and their width is about 10 cm. Vertical ones are later attached to the horizontal strips at a distance of about 60 cm. The main sheet is already fixed to this crate.

How to fix drywall with a profile

Fastening to profiles usually makes work easier, especially since they are different for different purposes and conditions. For example, to protect the brittle sheet from mechanical damage using an angled perforated profile, it also helps in aligning the corners. How to fix drywall to the ceiling? Using ceiling profiles. Arrange the arch or multi-tiered structure with curved shapes, which are pre-punched, moistened, bent and dried in this state. The thickness of the material for these purposes should not be more than 600 mm. Attach unusual shapes to the base with screws, dowels, etc.

In addition, the way how to fix drywall depends on the goals that it will perform in the room. If this goal is applied (the creation of interroom partitions, for example, into which the door will later crash), then an enhanced design is needed. If the GKL is used only for decoration (leveling of walls, ceiling, creation of relief surfaces), then nothing else is to be strengthened.

Deaf frame partition made of plasterboard sheets

The frame from the metal profile is fixed to the supporting structures, after which they are covered with sheets of plasterboard. Improve the heat and sound insulation helps the use of polyurethane or rubberized tape under the frame and a layer of mineral wool between the panels. The length of such a partition is limited only to the purposes for which it is erected, and the thickness depends on the type and width of the rails of the steel profile, as well as the distance between them.

In standard apartments, the height of the ceiling rarely exceeds 3 meters, so the inner partition can be erected on a single frame. The main thing is not to load it later with heavy regiments, etc. - can not stand it. In such partitions it is possible to install any type of interior doors, both light ones - from PVC and heavy ones - from solid wood, only it is necessary to make reinforced frames for them: for a door weighing up to 30 kg - from a wooden beam, above - from a special profile.

Ceiling from GKL

Before fixing the drywall to the ceiling, think through its device. If this is just a method of leveling, there is nothing complicated - the whole sequence of works is described above. If a complex multilevel design is planned, then all parts are pryed out and bent at the right angles, then the crate is fixed, on which parts of the future ceiling are screwed using the same dowels or screws. The entrance points of fasteners are hidden from the eyes with a putty.

Any method of fixing gypsum cardboard requires leaving a two-centimeter gap between the main surface and the GCR itself. And decorative design largely depends on the quality of sealing butt joints.
