Tilda-bears: we sew ourselves

Wonderful textile dolls and little animals attract not only children, but also adults. Especially popular were Tilda dolls, bears, rabbits and seals. These toys were invented by the needlewoman named Tony Finanger from Norway. For a short time they have gained such world popularity that not only finished handmade products can be found on the market, but also materials, kits and patterns for such creativity. In addition, the author of these dolls wrote many books on their production, which provide step-by-step instructions.

Features and distinctive features

To understand how Tilda-bears are sewn, it is enough to look at their photo. At once it is possible to consider such features:

  • a slim body;
  • Long paws with large feet;
  • Neat muzzle.

These features are inherent in toys in the event that Tilda-bears are sewn from parts, but there is another version of their manufacture: when the trunk, paws and head are all-in-one, and only the ears are sewn.

Material selection

That the toy was sustained in the necessary style, special attention should be given to the choice of fabric. Usually for the Tilda-bear, sewn from the details, take a monophonic fabric of light pastel shade, and for a solid-colored toy, the material with different patterns will suit. And for that, and for another toy separately sew clothes, which gives them a special charm and charm. However, if instead of it is planned only a beautiful bow on the neck of a satin ribbon, then for a fragmented product you can take a patterned cloth.

Stuff the product with a sintepon or holofayber. It is this material that makes it possible to evenly fill even the most complex parts of a toy.

How to build a one-piece pattern

Tilda bears are sewn on special patterns that can be bought directly from their creator, but a huge number of craftsmen do them on their own, which does not spoil these adorable creatures. As already mentioned, you can view the details either on the finished work or on a photo and, observing the proportions established by the author, draw all the details. The easiest way is to build a pattern for an integral toy. To begin with, you need to determine the growth of the future product, draw a line of the middle, draw a slightly extended head with a wide neck that immediately turns into shoulders and paws. Upper legs should not be too long, the stomach and lower part of the armpits should go exactly downwards, not tapering or widening. Then the bear's legs appear.

How to build patterns for detailed bears

Teddy bears are sewn with their own hands easily enough, even if the toy is made in stages from parts. So, in order to make such a joke, you need to build patterns for the following details, this:

  • Head. This part consists of two parts, which are in the form of an oval with a slightly elongated spout. The seam should pass along the symmetry line of the muzzle through the crown and the middle of the occiput.
  • The trunk is also an oval with a small neck and tucks from the front and back parts for a larger volume. As a rule, this part is slightly longer than the head and longer than it is almost twice.
  • Ears. Each consists of two semicircles.
  • Upper paws. These details should be small in thickness and slightly longer than the trunk, slightly widening to the top.
  • The feet with the feet are also long, consisting of two parts. The foot should be twice as thick as the shin, approximately 2/3 of the entire length.

As you can see, for the work is not required to buy a ready-made pattern of Tilda bears, because if you experiment a little, you can create it yourself.

Assemblage of details

How to sew a teddy bear after all the patterns are ready? To begin with, the resulting patterns are transferred to the fabric, give a small allowance for the seam, about 0.5-0.7 mm, and cut out all the details. Then proceed to the processing of all blanks. The whole-cut version is much faster to sew than the teddy-bear from the parts. For this, the cut out details are cleaved by tailor's pins and at the same distance from the cuts a seam is laid. In the areas of curvature, cuts are made from the edge to the seam, so that the article does not crumple. In the place of sewing the ears, the seam is not laid, through this hole the product is turned out, filled with a sintepon, it is inserted with the ears cuts and neat stitches finish the work.

In the same way, and sew all the details of the second version of the bear. After all, they are collected in a toy, turning the slices into parts. Sew the parts carefully, so that you can not see any rough stitches and nodules anywhere. On the head, an opening is left open from the neck, respectively, and on the side of the trunk, these two blanks are combined. The paws are also not pierced at the junctions, the same applies to the ears of the toy. All these seams are neatly closed at the time of assembly by hand. And in order for a wonderful toy to come out, the work requires only accuracy and a well-built Tilda pattern.

Master-class "Mishka Tilda" of other masters can be very useful, but you can easily do without additional information and lessons. It should be noted that after the creation of such a toy at least once, a lot of ideas will break into your daily routine and will not let you live peacefully. You will want to create and create!

Textile toys in the interior

Any toy Tilda will easily fit not only in the interior of the children's room, but also make a kind of romanticism and ease in the setting of the living room or bedroom. The main thing is that its color harmoniously fit into the interior, emphasizing the overall picture or standing out as a bright spot on the general background. In addition, very often in the filling of such toys add coffee beans or fragrant herbs, which makes them even more attractive.
