The series "Cops-recruits": actors and roles, a short story

The joint Canadian-American TV series "Cops-recruits" started in June 2010 on two channels. After the pilot series, his rating was surprisingly high, so the creators extended it first for one season, and then for another four.

Story line

In the fifteenth section of the Canadian city of Toronto, still very young, that is to say, green graduates of the police academy are being arranged. The employees of this department do not investigate the proceeds, but only look for persons who are wanted, go about civil strife. However, in practice it turned out that there was no such section at all. Three girls and two guys - they are all cops-recruits. Actors participating in the project are not familiar to the Russian viewer, but are known in their homeland for various television projects.

Andy McNally (M. Peregrim)

In the police, the young lady, after graduating from the academy, submitted solely from the desire to follow in the footsteps of her father. The role was played by Canadian model and actress Missy Peregrim. Her debut on the screen took place in 2002 in the series "The Dark Angel". Twice she was nominated for the Leo Awards for her role in the TV show "The Reaper" as the performer of the best female role. Behind Andy's character is a complicated family environment, her mother left her family when she was only 12 years old, and her father drank, unable to withstand the burden of work and loneliness. Being a policeman is her vocation, she seeks to help people, is strict towards herself and loves her work.

Gail Pack (Charlotte Sullivan)

Mother Gail holds an important leadership position in the police of Canada, so the attitude of colleagues to her is very biased, they believe that many mistakes just go off the girl at hand. The newcomers openly dislike her, and the girl herself, in fact, is alone. The role was played by a Canadian actress, practically unfamiliar to the Russian TV audience. This is a distinctive feature that the series "Cops-recruits" has. Actors are popular and known mainly in Canada. Her career began as a teenager in her teens, in her piggy bank role of Marilyn Monroe in the miniseries "Clan Kennedy."

Dov Epstein (Gregory Smith)

Another graduate of the academy and colleague Andy. The guy initially strongly complexed about the absence of a threatening kind, which is necessary for the policeman, but calmed down, having decided that in the form he is more attractive to the girls. But with a beautiful half he does not add up. He seeks to prove to his colleagues that he is a good officer, but often gets into curious situations and commits reckless acts. The role was played by Gregory Smith - American and Canadian actor, known for the movie "Soldiers", "Patriot", where his colleague on the site was Mel Gibson.

Sam Soarek (Ben Bass)

An experienced police officer. Fell in love with the heroine Missy Peregrim literally from the first minutes of dating, but his feelings in no way manifested until the third season, in which they begin to actively develop relationships. After a prolonged quarrel and parting, they ultimately marry in the final season of the series. Bass Bern as an adult and a more experienced employee looks very harmonious. The actor has a professional education, studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

Chris Diaz (Travis Milne)

A newcomer, accustomed to playing by the rules always and everywhere. He tries in everything strictly to follow the instruction exactly until he begins to realize that it is more important to be a person, not a policeman. For a long time he meets Gail, but the relationship has not been further developed. The role of Chris was performed by Canadian actor Travis Milne. The series "Cops-recruits" (actors and roles described in the article) - this is not his first work, but the most famous to the audience.

Tracey Nash (Enuka Okuma)

Another newcomer to the site. Colleagues from work know that she alone brings up Leo's little son. I was once engaged to the detective department Jerry Barber in the performance of Noam Jenkins. The role of Nash went to actress Enuka Okuma. A Canadian of African-American descent has more than fifty television projects in her moneybox, among them "Detective Rush", "Dark Angel", "Andromeda", etc.

Reviews of critics about the series "Cops-recruits"

Actors, casting and the project itself after the first three pilot series aroused great interest among the audience, but critics for the most part met the premier cool enough. Alessandra Stanley, one of the columnists of The New York Times, expressed the opinion that the series has no innovative ideas, but it is not an exclusively entertaining show and it has a certain meaning. In addition, many critics noted the marked similarity of the project to the popular medical drama "Anatomy of Passion" and made a parallel between the main characters. According to them, a graduate of a police academy performed by Missy Peregrim is an analog of Meredith Gray.
