Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak: biography
Among Russian politicians this person occupies a special place. Being at the helm of the country and being Putin's longtime comrade in St. Petersburg, Dmitry Kozak is distinguished by amazing modesty, weighted words and deeds, unique diplomatic skills. With his name there is very little scandal - they can literally be counted on the fingers of one hand. He does not stick out, he does not crawl into trouble, but simply calmly does his job as vice-premier of the Russian Federation. And, probably, slowly, but confidently fixed on the political Olympus.
Childhood
A great surprise for many can become the nationality of Dmitry Kozak. He is Ukrainian, although he lived a great life in Russia. The future statesman of a large caliber was born in a small village Bandurovo, which is in the Kirovograd region. There was this remarkable event for the parents in the day no less joyful for all Soviet citizens - November 7. It was a distant 1958 year ...
It is said that Dmitry's mother, long before the birth of the child, predicted his sex, the "red" date of birth, and also great career successes.
And my father - Nikolai Kozak - willingly or unwittingly contributed to the realization of the last point of the mother's prophecy. He raised his eldest son in particular severity and demanded more from him than from the younger one. As a result, Dmitry Kozak showed himself at school as an excellent student and remained so until the tenth grade.
Youth
A promising graduate school teachers recommended to leave Bandurovo to Vinnitsa and enter any university. For example, in the Polytechnic, where Dmitry's ability to exact sciences would be useful.
He listened to their advice and entered the recommended institute. True, it happened after the service in the army, which Dmitry Kozak blew "from call to ring."
But you can not tell about studying in Vinnitsa Polytechnic University. Absolutely unexpected for others (and maybe even for himself), the young man decides to change his life dramatically and torture his happiness in Leningrad, at the law faculty of the state university.
Assuming that his parents did not share his fuse, he did not tell them about his idea until he received a student card from the most prestigious higher educational institution of the USSR. And no persuasion of teachers of the Polytechnic Institute, where Kozak had time to prove himself brilliantly, could not keep him at home ... Northern Palmyra beckoned and called.
In 1985, a native of the village of Bandurovo Dmitry Nikolaevich Kozak received a diploma of LGUU.
Carier start
And again a high start for the next jump. A graduate-honors pupil was assigned to work in the Leningrad city prosecutor's office, where he worked from 1985 to 1989 first as an intern, then as a prosecutor, and then as a senior prosecutor.
For all time of service Dmitry Kozak has proved to be the competent and scrupulous employee. He did not welcome the "blat", so widespread in the late eighties, and repeatedly openly condemned the leadership, entering into acute conflicts with him. One of the situations when Kozak spoke out negatively about the distribution of departmental housing to the "cousins" cost him his office. A young and ardent lawyer with progressive views could not tolerate a blatant injustice and put a statement on leaving the chief's desk.
Then it looked like a career crash. But time showed the opposite. Who knows who would be today Dmitry Kozak, photo of which presents the image of a modest and absolutely not outrageous person, if not for that case. Perhaps, he would have served to the chief prosecutor Peter and everything ... But how are things really in fact?
After a loud departure from the prosecutor's office, Kozak worked as the head of the company's jurotel called Monolit-Kirovstroy, provided legal advice to the Association of Mortgage Ports, and even managed a private firm, Neva-Yust.
Coming into politics
In 1990, Anatoly Sobchak, who presides at that time in the Leningrad City Council, persuades his friend, Dmitry Kozak, to return to the civil service. And he agrees to take the post of head of the legal department of the City Council. This event can be considered the beginning of his political career.
Plunged headlong into the management of the city, Kozak is running in 1994 in the deputies of the Legislative Assembly of Peter and passes. And then everything goes like clockwork. The post of the chairman of the city council of the mayoralty (1994-1999), the post of vice-governor of St. Petersburg (1996-1999), the creation of a city charter and the high award for it ... Strong friendship with Sobchak, acquaintance with Putin ... And Dmitry Nikolaevich's prospects become even more rosy .
Moving to Moscow
After in the late 90's. Sobchak lost the gubernatorial elections to his former wife, Vladimir Yakovlev, his team led by Putin demonstratively withdraws from business and slowly "flows" to Moscow.
Dmitry Kozak, whose biography has already closely interwoven with Peter, still remains in this city for some time and even holds high posts. But soon he leaves for the capital.
In August 1999, he was appointed to the post of first deputy head of the government apparatus, and literally a week later he was the head. When the pre-election presidential race started, with the participation of the old Petersburg comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, Kozak, naturally, could not stay away and headed his friend's headquarters.
Their victory became common. Putin received the main seat of the country, and Kozak - almost limitless opportunities for growth. It all began with the replacement of the head of the presidential administration and at the moment it has already reached the vice premiership.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak: the rise
In March 2008, Dmitry Medvedev became president of Russia, and Vladimir Putin became prime minister. The latter chose Kozak as his deputy. So Dmitry Nikolaevich became the vice-premier of the Russian Federation, supervising questions of housing and communal services, social and economic development of regions and other major spheres.
One of Kozak's "loud" tasks was to put things in order in the North Caucasus. Equally significant was his contribution to the implementation of judicial and administrative reforms. Dmitry Nikolaevich retained his post after Putin returned to presidential apartments in 2012, staying in this position to this day.
Olympics, Crimea, sanctions ...
One more important task entrusted to the vice-premier of Russia, of course, can be considered preparation for the Olympic Games in Sochi.
Having successfully coped with the task, Kozak gets the following - to supervise the "newly made" subject of the Russian Federation - Crimea. After taking office, a native of Ukraine took on himself the "fire" - in the middle of the spring of 2014 he was added to the EU and US sanctions list. But he is still engaged in the affairs of the Crimea today.
Personal life
The vice-premier of the Russian Federation bound himself by marriage even in the days of students. Kozak's wife Dmitry - Lyudmila, gave him two sons: Alexei (1984) and Alexander (1987). Growing up, they both became managers, graduating from the capital's "Higher School of Economics." And Lyudmila Kozak heads the charity fund "Family for every child".
Unfortunately, in 2008 this very strong family parted, and soon the politician entered a second marriage. Who did Kozak Dmitry Nikolaevich choose as his new companions in life? Wife, whose photo Often flashed on the pages of the media, is a very successful lawyer. Her name is Natalia Kvacheva.
Friends speak about the vice-premier as a person to the core of family bones and appreciates family ties. This is what his actions say. Kozak had already taken his elderly parents to Moscow long ago, and helped his younger brother, who always was not serious and worked as a driver in Bandurov, as a chauffeur, helped build a brilliant capital career.
During his political career, Dmitry Kozak managed to do a lot for the country. But even more to it only it is necessary!
