The Rainbow Rose is an elegant and delicate flower that strikes with its unusual color of petals. The idea of creating this delightful rose with multi-colored petals arose from the owner of one of the Dutch flower companies - Peter van de Werken. He came up with how to grow a rainbow rose. Based on his idea, two Dutch companies FJZandbergen and River Flowers conducted a series of joint experiments. During half a year the technology of coloring was painstakingly developed, and as a result, in 2004 a new kind of amazing plants was introduced - the "rainbow rose".
The essence of the experiment of Peter Van de Werken
The basis of the idea of the Dutch breeder was a well-known fact: flowers absorb moisture and carry it through the stem to the petals. Peter van de Werken invented to cut the stalk of an ordinary white rose in such a way that there would be several "channels" through which the flower can pass water colored with dyes in different colors. Lowering parts of the stem into different containers with paint, the team of breeders was able to get a fantasy flower with petals of all colors of the rainbow.
Using an iridescent rose
The rainbow rose has gained great popularity: it is an original floral element for decoration of wedding ceremonies, anniversaries and other solemn events. Roses, whose petals as if absorbed the entire rainbow spectrum, make any holiday more memorable, bright and colorful. In addition, rainbow colors are actively used for decorating various floral compositions. Recently, bouquets of bride and groom's boutonniere made with the use of such flowers are in great demand. And of course, the rainbow rose itself can be a wonderful gift, which will necessarily make an indelible impression. Such flowers stand somewhat more expensive than their one- or two-color analogs, but they are nevertheless very much in demand. Recently, besides roses, other flowers also began to stain, including chrysanthemums, carnations, tulips, hydrangeas and orchids.
We color iridescent roses at home
If you want to give someone a special, iridescent rose, you can try to "grow" it yourself. Staining does not require any special skills: it can be easily carried out at home. To conduct the experiment you will need proper white roses, several water tanks and a set of food dyes of different shades. It is advisable to purchase a special paint for flowers or for Easter eggs. The method of manufacturing such an unusual flower is as follows: in order for the petals to become "rainbow", it is necessary to cut the stems of the plant into several parts. Then each part should be placed in an individual container with colored water. Water should have a rich, bright color (but not be thick). After this, it remains only to wait a little. Within a day or two, the plant will gradually absorb water, and its petals - stain different shades.
