The medicine 'Bisoprolol'. Instructions

The drug "Bisoprolol" is a fairly common remedy for hypertension. According to some patients, this medication is quite effective and fast acting. In addition, the drug is well tolerated. The active ingredient - bisoprolol ("Concor" - another quite popular drug at elevated pressure - also contains this active substance).

The drug is included in the category of beta 1-blockers selective. The agent does not have internal sympathomimetic and membrane-stabilizing activity. Characterizing the preparation "Bisoprolol", the instruction indicates the ability to reduce myocardial oxygen demands, to reduce heart rate (at rest and under load) and cardiac output without a significant change in stroke volume. The drug has antihypertensive and anti-anginal effect. The drug is able to inhibit atrioventricular (atrioventricular) conduction. The intake of elevated dosages (from twenty milligrams) provokes a blockade of beta2-adrenergic receptors, to a greater extent, in the smooth muscles of blood vessels and bronchi.

The vascular resistance (general peripheral) increases in the first twenty-four hours, and after 1-3 days returns to the initial index. With prolonged use of the drug OPSS is reduced.

Characterizing the hypotensive effect of the drug "Bisoprolol", the instruction indicates the relationship of this action with a decrease in the minute volume of blood, sympathetic stimulation in the peripheral vessels, a decrease in intensity in the renin-angiotensin system. Along with this, there is a restoration of sensitivity with a decrease in blood pressure and effects on the central nervous system.

The optimal antihypertensive effect is observed on the second to fifth days after the beginning of treatment, a stable effect occurs in one to two months.

In connection with the decrease in heart rate, the need for oxygen in the myocardium decreases. Thus, antianginal effect is manifested.

The medicine "Bisoprolol" also has antiarrhythmic effect. This effect is associated with the elimination of provoking factors. These include, in particular, tachycardia, increased activity of the nervous sympathetic structure, arterial hypertension.

The medicine "Bisoprolol" (form of release - tablets) is prescribed in individual dosage. Usually appoint from two and a half to ten milligrams a day. It is recommended to take medicine only once. The maximum amount of a drug per day is not more than twenty milligrams.

To the side effects when taking the medicine "Bisoprolol" the instruction includes disorders of the psyche and sleep, dizziness, weakness, headache, fatigue. In some cases, the medicine may provoke hallucinations, conjunctivitis, abdominal pain, weakness and muscle cramps, itching of the skin. Among the common side reactions of the drug "Bisoprolol" the instruction also calls allergy, increased sweating, orthostatic hypotension, atrioventricular conduction disorder and others.

The medication is not recommended for collapse, shock (cardiogenic, including), edema in the lungs, hypersensitivity to components, bradycardia. Contraindications also include decompensated heart failure in the chronic stage, predisposition to bronchospasm, age to eighteen years, severe bronchial asthma, COPD and others.
