The master's degree is an open door for career growth!

A modern master's program (master or magistrate) is the improvement of one's knowledge in a number of certain branches of science, and a serious step towards building a successful career, and a possible improvement in the quality of life or material well-being in the future. These reasons push to the second higher education and reception of such document, as the diploma of the master, both young, and mature people.

Masters in ancient Rome called officials. Later in Europe, the masters considered the heads of various ecclesiastical or secular institutions. Universities of the Middle Ages already offered after the training to obtain several degrees: a master's, bachelor's and doctoral degrees. In some countries, instead of a master's degree, there was a licentiate. And in 1240 the rights of the masters considerably expanded - henceforth they had an opportunity to elect the rector of the university.

On the territory of Russia, a diploma and a degree of a magistrate appeared in the beginning of the 19th century together with the decree of Alexander I. At the same time was introduced and the title of doctor, and a little later - a candidate. The master occupied the middle position between the candidate (the one who finished the university "excellent") and the doctor. He could receive the post and rank of titular counselor. In revolutionary times, at the beginning of the 20th century, all ranks were abolished, and they returned only to the nineties.

Today, a master's program in Russia and in the territory of the countries of the former Soviet Union is a 1-2 year long course of study, which is most often focused on research and scientific work. It is possible to obtain a state master's degree only in higher educational institutions with an appropriate level of accreditation (not less than IV) and technical facilities for performing final work.

Admission to the magistracy is available only if you have a bachelor's degree in the same specialty or in the same direction. The training program includes a theoretical course and independent research under the guidance of a scientific supervisor. It ends with the final certification (defense of the thesis, as a result of scientific research, and passing the corresponding examinations).

In the United States, the right to assign a master's degree is not all universities, but only those who have passed the necessary certification and have compulsory training programs. Master's degree is obtained after 1-2 years of passing a certain number of courses with the final points not less than "B" ("good"). Therefore, before paying tuition fees, you should weigh your strengths well in the selected subjects. Doing master's degree of scientific work under the guidance of a professor or even a council of professors is not required in all universities. But if there is such a requirement, the future master must have a creative approach and original, non-standard thinking.

In any country, being in a magistracy, it is possible to pass all kinds of trainings with a full penetration into a real political, economic, cultural or social situation. Such experience and knowledge will become indispensable in future when developing the strategy of one's own life and career.

A graduate with a master's degree in his hand is always more highly regarded by the employer!
