The Kramskoy Art Museum (Voronezh) is a major cultural center of the entire Chernozem region. It is located in the palace of the 18th century, built in the Baroque style by the architect N. Ievsky. The building itself is an architectural monument of national importance.

The main fund of the museum includes 20,360 items of storage. In addition to permanent exhibitions, mobile exhibits are often arranged on the basis of their own collections.

History

The Kramskoy Museum (Voronezh) was established in 1933 under the name of the Museum of Fine Arts. Its foundation was the unification of art collections of the Museum of Antiquities and Fine Arts and the Provincial Museum. The modern name in honor of Voronezh artist Kramskoy was approved in 1984.

During the Great Patriotic War, the palace building was badly damaged by fire. Its restoration took several years and ended only in 1953. The project was led by architect G. Zdebchinsky. He tried to keep the original appearance of the palace as much as possible.

In 1984, in order to expand the exposition area, another hall was added to the north side of the building.

Currently, the museum of Kramskoy (Voronezh) not only stores and exhibits samples of ancient culture, but conducts research work, conducts educational activities, participates in cultural events of the country.

Museum fund

The museum owns ancient Egyptian and ancient artifacts, objects of painting, graphics, unique icons, decorative and applied artifacts, sculptures, porcelain collection. One of the rooms is devoted to numismatics.

Ceramic products of the VIII century BC. - the most ancient items that are stored in the museum's collection. Among the ancient Egyptian values there is even a genuine cover of the sarcophagus. The Museum of Kramskoy (Voronezh) is rightfully proud of the rare canvases of the Dutch artist Frederik Van Royen. And the painting "Christ" by the brush of Michael Ostendorfer of the era of the German Renaissance is the truth of the pearl of the foundation.

For children

In November 2013, the Kramskoy Museum (Voronezh), a photo of which shows the wealth of its collections, launched a new program for children and adolescents. Its main tasks are the socialization of the younger generation, the inculcation of the notion of cultural values, acquaintance with the objects of art, the widening of the horizon, the saturation of leisure and the enrichment of the emotional sphere of the child. The target audience of the program are children and adolescents with health problems, orphans and adopted children from shelters.

The two-year course of the program consists of 28 sessions, combined into 4 cycles. Classes are held in the classrooms where the lecturer is speaking, children are shown slides. After the guys lead on excursions. To consolidate the material, young listeners independently conduct excursions for other groups. Quests on the principle of "Journey", "Experiment", "Investigation" are also often held. This approach not only helps to better understand the material, but also brings diversity and liveliness into the learning process. In addition, the children receive homework, which the teacher will check at the next lesson.

The bus number 2Н, 13Н, 20А, 23К or 33К, as well as numbers 41,52,79 or 90, 101,120, will take them to their destination. The passenger needs to get off at the Petrovsky Square stop.
