But the formation of cucumbers in the greenhouse is the most important condition for obtaining a high yield of this crop. The formation of shrubs should begin immediately, as soon as the plants take root, that is, about three to four days after transplanting the seedlings.

If the shoots do not shorten in time, then the planting will thicken so that it will be difficult to enter the greenhouse. But this is not the worst thing - in the crowdedness, diseases that quickly spread and can affect all plants begin to develop.

The formation of cucumbers in the greenhouse must begin before the beginning of fruiting. Usually, cucumbers are planted in two parallel rows, horizontal trellises are stretched from one wall to the other, for which a steel wire of 4-5 millimeters, or a cord, is used. The thickened and unformed plants will interfere with the harvesting - this must also be borne in mind. Since in most hybrid varieties the crop is formed mainly on the main whip, it is therefore necessary to form the stem, removing the side shoots.

It is necessary to pay attention to the type of hybrid chosen. So a branchy plant requires a large number of repeated forming operations, and the type of hybrid with limited branching in such operations is almost unnecessary, so that they can be reduced to a minimum.

It is necessary to form and modern greenhouse hybrids, which form mainly female flowers. The process of formation is as follows. In the first month, plants grow intensively and reach a height of more than half a meter. During this period, it is necessary to remove shoots and buds, which are formed in them in the axils of the leaves. This is done in order to form a powerful and well-leafy plant.

After this, when the cucumbers grow to half their height, approximately at the same length of the stem, the lateral whips that form again remain, but the tops over the first leaf and the female flower are preserved. Here usually form four or five shoots. Further, with the growth of the weaves, they are left longer and pinch already over the second sheet, leaving two ovaries, and the resulting lashes are cut and thrown out.
