The drug "Laktusan". Instructions for use

The drug "Laktusan", the instruction for its use acquaints us with this drug, is a biologically active additive, intended for the treatment of dysbiosis and belonging to the group of prebiotics. Representatives of this class of medicines have components that stimulate the development and nutrition of normal intestinal microflora.

The prebiotic "Lactusan", the instruction to which this preparation describes, belongs to the group of biologically active additives, which promote a normal metabolism of lipids. It is a mixture of mono- and polysaccharides separated from the whey. Its main active component is lactulose and galactose, fructose and epilactose, and also lactose. The drug can be purchased in pharmacies in the form of syrup or tablets.

Galactose, which is part of the drug, plays an important role in the synthesis of mucopolysaccharides and cerebrosides. These elements are part of the tissue membrane of the brain. That is why the use of biologically active additive "Lactusan" is recommended for children and patients suffering from diabetes.

Lactulose stimulates the vital functions of the microflora of the human body. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that, not absorbed into the bloodstream, it is utilized almost completely by lactobacilli and bifidobacteria, causing them to secrete acetic and lactic acids. As a result of this process, the medium of the colon becomes acidic and unsuitable for the development of pathogenic microflora and decay of proteins. Thus, lactulose helps neutralize toxins and serves as a "second liver". It helps this element and transport the fluid through the intestine and prevents its absorption into the bloodstream by triply increasing the volume of water. This ability of lactose is used in the treatment of chronic constipation .

The drug "Laktusan", the instruction to which informs about the indications for taking the drug, can be prescribed with both curative and prophylactic purposes with the following ailments:

In rare cases, a laxative effect is possible. Overdosing of the drug threatens the occurrence of diarrhea, nausea and pain in the abdominal region. The increased volume of the drug taken in the treatment of hepatic encephalopathy (over a long period of time) can trigger the onset of diarrhea, which is likely to cause electrolyte imbalance.
