The best districts of Sevastopol

Sevastopol is not just a hero city, attracting tens of thousands of tourists every year with its beauties and sights. It is still a large fishing and commercial port, as well as a cultural, historical, recreational, scientific, technical and industrial center, in which, besides all, the main naval base of the Black Sea Fleet is located. This city, like many others, is divided into several small territorial units. And all the districts of Sevastopol are unique in their way, interesting and successful for living. However, everything in order.

Nakhimovsky district

It was founded in 1957. His first thing to note is the attention, telling about the areas of Sevastopol, because it is with him actually begins the city.

At the time of the current year 2017, the population of this territorial unit is approximately 115,000 people (with an area of 231.5 km 2 ). This is a little more than a quarter of officially registered citizens in the city-hero.

The structure of Nakhimovsky district includes the Ship and Northern sides of Sevastopol, as well as the Verkhnezadovy, Andreevsky and Kachinsky municipal districts. Looking at the map, you can understand that its expanses go far. From the extreme point of Nakhimovsky district, which is the village of Verhnesadovoe, just 10 minutes drive to Bakhchisaray, and this is another city (the former capital of the Crimean Khanate, by the way).

Helpful information

If you talk about the areas of Sevastopol, then it is necessary to note a few nuances that can be useful for tourists and people who want to move here.

One part of Nakhimovsky district is very convenient. The one that is closer to the center. From there it is easy to get to the main city attractions, and the transport communication is developed perfectly. In this area there is a railway and automobile stations, as well as the two largest sandy beaches of the city - Lyubimovka and Uchkuevka. The first of these is surrounded by vineyards and gardens, and the second almost drowns in pine and acacia groves. Lyubimovka and Uchkuevka are the centers of the beach industry. They are very popular with tourists and people who want to invest in real estate.

But other municipal districts of Nakhimovsky district are inconvenient. Up to the same top, for example, to go by train about 45 minutes, and this is only from the station.

Leninsky district

It should also be noted with attention, telling about the city of Sevastopol. The Leninsky district (until 1961, called Stalin's) occupies only 26 km 2 , which makes it the smallest territorial unit. However, on its territory there are as many people as there are in all Nakhimov.

Many people ask themselves: what is the best area of Sevastopol from a tourist point of view? Definitely, Leninsky. On the territory of this district there is the Tower of the Winds, the Count's Pier, the Pokrovsky and Vladimir Cathedrals, the Former Kenassa, the Military History Museum of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia, the Sailor's Club, the Sailor and Soldier Monument, and the symbol of the city - Monument to the Scuttled Ships.

Infrastructure

This area is perfect for any person. There is a highly developed social infrastructure. There are 33 kindergartens, three vocational schools, a sports school, a boarding school, 14 general education schools, 17 polyclinics and hospitals, 2 theaters, 7 cinemas, 2 swimming pools, 3 stadiums and much more.

By the way, in the Leninsky district there is one of the largest retail areas that Sevastopol has. District Ostryakov (avenue, to be more precise) includes "5 km" - the same market. There you can find anything you want. As a matter of fact, people go there and go.

However, it is impossible to list everything, since about 800 enterprises belonging to different spheres of activity are registered in the whole Leninsky district.

Gagarinsky district

This is the most populated territorial unit of the city. And if you build Sevastopol's districts in the rating on the development activity, then Gagarinsky, unequivocally, will head this list. At the moment, its free territory is being built up by new houses, shops, hotels, commercial enterprises, cultural and mass work institutions. Here is also the largest wholesale market - Metro.

To date, Gagarin district is a complex of large enterprises of industrial, radio-electronic, construction, research and design. On its territory are several secondary special educational institutions, schools and universities. Also it is impossible not to mention 22 sanitary-epidemiological and medical-preventive institutions.

It is worth remembering

Naturally, most people are interested in what are the tourist areas of Sevastopol. Feedback, as well as real information, will help to understand this.

The sea, interesting places and sights are all to Gagarinsky district. To its territory belongs the legendary national reserve of Tauric Chersonesos. This is a small piece of Greece in Sevastopol. Chersonesus was named a policy founded by immigrants from Heraclea Pontus in the distant 424/421 BC.

"The heart" of the Gagarin district can be considered Victory Park, which occupies 50 acres of the area. This is a popular holiday destination with several city beaches, bars, clubs and restaurants. To the coastline from the entrance to the park you can walk for 15 minutes. The path lies through the picturesque avenue of sycamores, poplars, maples, pines, junipers, rosemary, chestnut trees and other trees ennobled by paved paths and benches.

Another prominent place in the region is the armored tower battery No. 35, located in the Cossack bay. This is a well-known fortification structure of the Coastal Defense of the Black Sea Fleet, erected at the beginning of the XX century. The battery withstood the entire defense of Sevastopol in 1941/42. Today it is a well-known historical and memorial complex. Nearby there is a state oceanarium, in which rehabilitation sessions of dolphin therapy are held.

Balaklava district

This is the fourth administrative unit, which includes Sevastopol. Photos of the areas are attached, and above you can see the most recognizable part of the Balaklava district.

Its territory is sparsely populated. A total of about 50,000 people live. This is a bit, considering that this district includes 26 villages, 1 city and 1 settlement, which does not have the status.

Of particular note is Inkerman, which arose in the 600's of our era. This is a small town, located near the Black River, flowing into the Sevastopol Bay. It is through it that the railway passes to Simferopol. The town is original - here is the medieval fortress of Kalamita and a well-known factory of vintage wines, in the cellars of which about 1.05 million decaliters of elite drink are stored.

Fiolent

This picturesque cape of volcanic origin belongs to the Balaklava region. There the South ridge of the Crimean mountains which comes to an end near Feodosiya originates.

Fiolent is one of the most favorite places for tourists. People who want to successfully invest their money, buy real estate or land, which then build cottages, rented in the summer for very good (for owners) prices. Fiolent loves extreme, because this is an ideal place for jumping from rocks on rope insurance and kayaking.

From the cottages that are located here, you have an amazing view of the vast sea range, but few people, even if they live here, carry out a "blue dream" about the daily morning run to the beach. It seems that the water is a stone's throw away. So it is, but you need to go down to it. There are several beaches and descents, but on average 600-800 steps (not all of them civilized) will have to be overcome. And then go back. Not everyone can do this every day.

So which district is the best? If you focus on reviews of local and visitors, then Gagarinsky and Leninsky are the most convenient and successful in all plans. But many also note that in those microdistricts that are close to the sea or landmarks, high prices for housing. Therefore, it can be concluded that all four main districts of Sevastopol are good in their own way. Which of them to choose for living or recreation, you need to decide for yourself, on an individual basis, depending on your personal requirements and goals.
