Sling yourself: there is nothing easier!

The appearance in the family of a child is an event, accompanied not only by a variety of very diverse emotions, but also by striking changes in the life of newly-made parents. Everything around, from the creation of a children's room and the purchase of a cot with a stroller and ending with the acquisition of various trifles designed to make life easier for both the baby and his mom and dad, is now connected with a crumb. One of these acquisitions must necessarily become a sling. Although, if you understand, it will become clear that you can make a sling by yourself. The technology of its creation is not that difficult. But about this a little later.

Slings, in the form in which they are represented now, appeared relatively recently. But turning to history, you can find out that such things existed at all times and in all nations. From time immemorial in Russia children were worn in the hem. Belarusian newborns were placed in a scarf or a towel. In Mexico and South America, the device has the name Rebozo, in China it's May-sling, and in Korea and Vietnam - Podegi. African parents put their kids in kanga, or kikuy, and Japanese - in ombuchimo. No matter how these remarkable inventions are called, they have one common advantage: anyone who is even slightly familiar with sewing can, after studying the features, make a sling for the newborn with their own hands.

Varieties of devices for wearing babies, newborns or more adults, not so much. Having dealt with the main ones, you can easily determine how to make a sling with your own hands. One of the most common options among young parents is the time to call a sling with rings. In fact, this is a two-meter strip of fabric, a little more than half a meter wide. At one end of the canvas, two rings are sewn, sometimes also a lining under the shoulder of the wearer, to soften the pressure of the fabric under the weight of the child. The opposite end is threaded into the rings in such a way that at any time you can easily change the length. Sling such a sling with your own hands will not be difficult and then you can wear it on your shoulder, not forgetting to alternate them periodically.

Sling-pipe or sling-pocket is a large ring made of cloth. Its diameter is about one and a half meters. This model is also worn on one shoulder, and the child can be placed in different positions: lying, on the back or on the thigh. It is rather difficult to produce such a sling by hand, since it is necessary to carefully calculate the dimensions, since it will not be possible to regulate it later. A significant disadvantage is that it is not suitable for both parents, if they are of different complexions.

Another very popular form of portable devices for babies is a sling-scarf. It resembles a sling with rings, only its length is from three to six meters. With the help of this transformer, the wearing parent can locate his child on his back, on his hip, on his stomach or in the position of the cradle, simply tying it to himself. This type of sling with their own hands is easy to make. By and large, you just need to buy the fabric of the necessary length and process the edges.

The Chinese mummies are in great demand with the May-sling. He is more like a kangaroo, but has advantages, the most important of which is the correct physiological position of the child. This carry consists of a rectangle of dense fabric with wide straps sewn around the corners, with which the baby is tied to the back, thigh or belly of the parent.

Using slings is gaining increasing popularity among modern young parents. These adaptations greatly facilitate the wearing of children, and also, thanks to the fact that hands remain free, they allow you to do other things.
